(1) Baud Rate This parameter is to choose a communication speed of the RS-232C interface. As “9600 bps” has been chosen as defa ult, change it in accordance with your PC. After making a choice, press the [PAUSE] key. NOTES: 1. Choose a desired baud rate by using the [RESTART] or [FEED] key. 2. Be careful if the printer is turned off without pressing the [PAUSE] key, the selected value does not become effective. As “8 bits” has been chosen as defau lt, change it in accordance with your PC. After making a choice, press the [PAUSE] key. (3) Stop Bit This parameter is to choose a stop bit of the RS-232C interface. As “1 bit” has been chosen as defa ult, change it in accordance with your PC. After making a choice, press the [PAUSE] key. (4) Parity This parameter is to choose a parity of the RS-232C interface. As “None” has been chosen as default, change it in accordance with your PC. As “XON+READ AUTO” has been c hosen as default, change it in accordance with your PC. XON/XOFF AUTO: XON/XOFF mode (Software Flow Control) XON+READY AUTO: XON/XOFF + READY/BUSY (DTR) mode (Software & DTR/DSR Hardware Flow Control) READY/BUSY: READY/BUSY (DTR) mode (DTR/DSR Hardware Flow Control) XON/XOFF: XON/XOFF mode (Software Flow Control) READY/BUSY RTS: RTS mode (CTS/RTS Hardware Flow Control) After making a choice, press the [PAUSE] key. This parameter is to choose a language of the LCD Message Display. As “ENGLISH” has been chosen as default, change it as you like. After making a choice, press the [PAUSE] key. NOTES: 1. When using the hardware flow control, the control signals and data must be in pairs between the printer and the PC. After making a choice, press the [PAUSE] key. This parameter is to enable or disab le the web printer function which is available when the printer and your host computer is connected through TCP/IP. As “OFF” has been chosen as default, change to “ON” when this function is used. After making a choice, press the [PAUSE] key. NOTE: To enable this function, an IP address needs to be set, also. As “OFF” has been chosen as default, change it when this function is used. If the printer and the PC are connected by USB, plug & play will be automatically enabled, regardless of the setting of this parameter. After making a choice, press the [PAUSE] key. The System Mode for system administrators consists of the following menus. DIAG. Vx.x This menu is used to check and print the printer system information and maintenance counter status. PARAMETER SET This menu is used to set the printer parameters. ADJUST SET This menu is used to make a fine adjustment of a print start position, cut position, etc. TEST PRINT This menu is used to perform print tests. SENSOR ADJ. This menu is used to check the sensor statuses and adjust each sensor. RAM CLEAR This menu is used to perform a RAM clear. DO NOT USE this menu. IP ADDRESS This menu is used to set an IP address. BASIC This menu is used to enable the printer to use Basic program. FOR FACTORY This menu is intended for an in-process inspection. Do not use this menu. First, you need to access the System Mode for system administrators. 1. While holding down the [FEED] and [PAUSE] keys, turn on the printer. 2. When “RESET” appears on the LCD Message Display, release the [FEED] and [PAUSE] keys. Now, the printer is in the System Mode for system administrators. 3.
