    WHITE BALANCE
    3 Select the desired icon, and press the SET button.
    hThis completes the white balance setting.
    hOnce the white balance setting is programmed for the ] icon, it is 
    retained even if another white balance setting (>, r, o, p, or 
    q) is selected. If you changed to another setting, whenever you 
    select the ] icon and press the SET button, the previously 
    programmed setting is recalled. 
    HINT
    To cancel the white balance setting
    iPerform step 1, select >, and then press the SET button.

    ADDING A VOICE MEMO
    In the single-shot still image shooting mode, you can record up to 
    approximately 10 seconds of sound (called a “voice memo”) when capturing 
    the image. The voice memo is a monaural recording.
    1 Set the camera to the still image shooting mode, and display PAGE 
    1 of the Shooting Setting Screen (page 55). 
    2 Select the capture still image with 
    voice memo icon % from the 
    operation mode menu, and press 
    the SET button.
    3 Press the shutter button to capture 
    the image, and then talk into the 
    microphone. 
    hDuring recording, RECORDING 
    appears in the upper right area of 
    the LCD monitor. 
    hTake care not to cover the 
    microphone with your fingers.
    hA voice memo of up to about 10 
    seconds can be recorded. 
    hTo end the recording before 10 
    seconds has elapsed, press the 
    shutter button.

    DISPLAYING THE PLAYBACK SETTING SCREENS
    The Playback Setting Screens are used to adjust your camera’s playback 
    settings.
    1 Press the playback button [H].
    hThe display changes to the 
    Playback Screen.
    2 Press the MENU button.
    hThe Playback Setting Screen 
    appears.
    To cancel the Playback Setting ScreenWhen the MENU button is pressed, you are returned to the Playback Screen.

    Switching the page
    The Playback Setting Screen consists of two pages: PAGE 1 and PAGE 2.
    1 Display a Playback Setting Screen.
    2 Toggle the SET button to the left.
    hThe Playback Setting Screen 
    changes to the other PAGE.
    hEach time the SET button is 
    toggled to the left, the PAGE 
    changes.

    IMAGE PROTECT
    Prevent accidental erasure of image and audio data.
    1 Display the data that you want to protect from accidental erasure, 
    and display PAGE 1 of the Playback Setting Screen (page 87).
    2 Select the protect icon A, and 
    press the SET button.
    h“LOCK?” appears.
    hIf the protect mode has already 
    been enabled for the data, then 
    “UNLOCK?” appears.
    3 Toggle the SET button up or down 
    to select “YES”, and press the SET 
    button.
    hThe protect mode is set for the 
    data.
    hThe protect mark B indicates that 
    the data is locked.
    hTo return to the Playback Setting 
    Screen, press the MENU button.

    CAUTION
    iEven if the protect mode is set for certain data files, they will be erased if 
    the card is reformatted (page 137).
    HINT
    To select a different image in steps 2 and 3...
    iToggle the SET button to the left or right.
    To cancel the protect mode for an image...
    iDisplay the desired data and repeat steps 1 to 3. The protect mark B will 
    disappear and the protect mode is canceled.

    ERASING DATA
    You can erase data that is stored on the card if you no longer need it. You can 
    erase the data one at a time, or all at once.
    1 Display PAGE 1 of the Playback Setting Screen (page 87).
    2 Select the erase icon c, and press 
    the SET button.
    hThe Erase Mode Screen appears.
    DELETE SINGLE:
    Erases one data at 
    a time.
    DELETE ALL:Erases all the data. 
    All images assigned 
    to the schedule are 
    also erased.
    EXIT:Returns to the Playback Setting Screen.
    3 Toggle the SET button up or down the select the erase mode, and 
    press the SET button.
    hThe Erase Confirmation Screen appears.
    
    hToggle the SET button to the left or right to select the data you wish to 
    erase.
    
    hToggle the SET button to the left or right confirm that all data is to be 
    erased.

    4 Toggle the SET button up to select “YES”, and press the SET button.
    
    hThe currently displayed image is deleted.
    hTo erase other data, select the data, and press the SET button.
    
    hThe Erase Confirmation Screen again appears. To erase the data, 
    select “YES”, and press the SET button. When data erase is 
    completed, “NO IMAGE” is shown.
    CAUTION
    About protected images
    iData which is protected from accidental erase cannot be erased. To erase 
    protected data, set the protect setting for the data to off (page 91), and 
    then follow the data erase procedure.
    The schedule shot is also erased.
    iIf captured still images were entered in the schedule, the images will also 
    be deleted from the schedule when the image data is erased. Please take 
    note of this especially when choosing the “DELETE ALL” mode.
    iYou can also access the One Erase Confirmation Screen from the 
    Playback Screen by toggling the SET button up.
