    Description, Features
and BenefitsDesigned specifically for the custom installer who specializes in high-end theaters and
appreciates craftsmanship and video quality, the XtremeProjection™ series
X-400d/X-450d Active 3D Projection System brings big screen experiences to the home.
The X-400d/X-450d delivers stunning images in both 2D and 3D. Both models
incorporate the ISF™ (Imaging Science Foundation) calibration suite for optimal
performance, including ISF Day and ISF Night presets for the ultimate video performance
    any time of day.
The X-450d is a high-bright projector delivering an incredibly bright 3,780 Lumens (before
calibration) of stunning and flawless video at a scale unattainable by other display types,
opening up new projector possibilities in the home and excelling outside of the dedicated
home theater, where environmental factors such as lighting are not easily controlled. For
dedicated home theater environments that may not require the X-450d’s light output
capability, the X-400d provides an impressive 2,100 Lumens (before calibration) of light
output and enhanced contrast. In all other respects, the two projectors are identical.
    The X-400d/X-450d combines a powerful, three-chip DLP
® engine with a wide array of
lens options. With the addition of the X-400d/X-450d to Runco’s 3D projection offerings,
clients now have a variety of exceptional 3D options to choose from based on their
    individual needs.
The X-400d/X-450d ships with Runco’s new Dimension Digital Controller™ (DC-300),
which has been engineered to enhance 3D performance. This 2U outboard controller
provides a level of flexibility and control not commonly found in integrated processors, and
provides the Runco installer with a full suite of calibration tools necessary to achieve a
perfect picture in any viewing environment.
The X-400d/X-450d comes equipped with three pairs of active 3D glasses and relies on
frame sequential 3D technology to ensure that users can enjoy 2D and 3D content on the
same screen, with full 1080p HD resolution delivered to both eyes.
The X-400d/X-450d features Runco’s revolutionary Personal Color Equalizer™ (PCE),
which allows color adjustment that includes those exactly defined by the cinematographer
and the color preferences of each individual viewer for each source.
In addition to Runcos proprietary Personal Color Equalizer, the X-400d/X-450d can also
be paired with Runco’s legendary CineWide™ technology. Through an ingenious
combination of software, electronics and precision anamorphic optics, CineWide provides
uncompromised widescreen reproduction of movies originally filmed in the “scope” 2.35:1
format. It maintains constant vertical height on the screen just as in a movie theater. When
a viewer transitions from 1.78:1 (16:9) program material to superwide 2.35:1, the image
simply gets wider while full screen height is maintained, eliminating useless black bars on
the top and bottom of the screen. Also available with the X-400d/X-450d is CineWide with
AutoScope™, an enhanced, remote-controlled motorized version of CineWide.
Rounding out this projector’s impressive feature set are discrete input source, aspect ratio
and power on/off control (via serial commands or IR codes), for seamless integration with
    automation control systems.
CineWide requires the use of a 2.35:1 (or similar aspect ratio),
    “superwide” format screen.
