    Before rotating the monitor, remove the pin on the back of the base and \
    raise the monitor to a higher 
    vertical height adjustment to avoid hitting the bottom edge of the monit\
    or when rotating.

    Rotating the Monitor
     
     
    Rotating Your Computers Operating System 
    After rotating, the procedures below help rotate the image from your ope\
    ration system.
    1.  Right-click on the desktop then click on Properties.  
    2.  
    Select the Settings tab and click Advanced. then find your graphic card. 
    3.  For ATI graphics cards: Select the Rotation tab and set the preferred rotation. 
     
    For nVidia graphics cards: Click the nVidia tab; in the left-hand column select NVRotate and 
    then select the preferred rotation.
     
     
    For Intel graphics cards: Select the Intel graphics tab, click Graphic Properties; select the 
    Rotation tab and then set the preferred rotation. 
    If you do not find the rotation option or if you have problems when foll\
    owing the steps listed above, you 
    need to go to your computer graphics card manufacturer’s website or y\
    our computer manufacturer’s 
    website for information on rotating your operating system.

    Philips SmartManage is an advanced solution for users, corporate/institu\

    particular, to manage their Philips monitors as part of the asset manage\
    ment environment. The 
    solution includes three essential components, Philips SmartManage Admini\
    strator, and Philips 
    SmarControl and Agent.
    Philips SmartManage is a solution joint developed by Philips and Altiris\
     Inc.
    SmartManage Features and Benefits
    The Philips SmartManage is a working console for IT management to gather\
     monitors assets 
    information, run asset report, control assets security, monitor assets s\
    ecurity, and issue instant 
    messages to monitor users. 
    Philips SmartManage includes the following major features:
    1.  Provides an additional security measure that helps corporate users safeg\
    uard their 
    investment.
    2.  Power saving feature that reduces utility costs and manpower required to\
     turn monitors on or 
    off.
    3.  SmartControl provides an efficient means for adjusting monitor performan\
    ce and settings.
    4.  Built-in asset reports reduce audit/maintenance manpower, cycle time and\
     costs.

    SmartManage is a software dedicated to business environments. Personal u\
    sers 
    normally do not need to use SmartManage.
    Philips SmartControl 
    The SmartControl and SmartManage Agent are deployed and installed in com\
    puters using Philips 
    monitors. With SmartControl and SmartManage Agent, monitors and PCs can \
    interact with the 
    administrators inquiries. Because SmartControl operates on individual P\
    C, end users can also use 
    SmartControl to adjust monitors performance settings.
    1. Requirement
    l     Graphic cards with nVIDIA (TNT2, GeForce, Quadro, or newer) and ATI (\
    Radeon or newer) 
    graphic chipsets that support the DDC/CI interface
    l     Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP operation systems.
    l     Philips monitors supporting DDC/CI interface 
    2. Installation 
    How to download SmartControl Installation  file:
    1.  Visit http:// www.philips.com
    2.  Select Your Country
    3.  Click on Contact & Support
    4.  Enter your model number
    5.  Enter Software & Driver page
    6.  Select SmartControl Software, and you can download SmartControl and it\
    s driver 
    for installation.
    3. Accessing SmartControl
    l     Right click on the desktop of your PC, and select Properties from the shortcut menu pops 
    up.
    l     Click on Settings tab, and click on Advanced button.
    l     Click Philips SmartControl tab.
    4. SmartControl Options
    l     Display and Sound 
    By moving the sliding bar toward left or right, users will be able to ad\
    just brightness, contrast, 
    audio volume (if applicable), video noise (not applicable when using \
    DVI-D input), and color 
    temperatures.

    l     Position  
    Users can adjust the horizontal and vertical position of the screen by m\
    oving the sliding bar 
    left and right. This function is disabled when using DVI-D (digit) inp\
    ut.

    on stored in the

    l     General 
    Click on General for general information including driver information, d\
    evice information, and 
    monitor control.
     
    Within monitor control, users can click on Auto Setup to achieve optimum\
     performance or click on 
    factory reset to reset the parameters of the monitor. Such choices are d\
    isabled when using DVI-D 
    (digit) input.

    Q1. What is the difference between SmartManage, SmartControl? 
    A. SmartManage is a remote management/control software for IT managers to manage monitors

    SmartControl is a control panel extension, which helps users to adjust m\
    onitor performances and 
    settings by a software interface, instead of the hardware buttons at the\
     front bezel of the monitors.
    Q2. I change the monitor on a PC to a different one and the SmartControl bec\
    omes un-usable, what 
    do I do? 
    A. Restart your PC and see if SmartControl can work. Otherwise, you will ne\
    ed to remove and re-
    install SmartControl to ensure proper driver is installed.
    Q3. The SmartControl functions well at the beginning, but it is not workable\
    , what can I do? 
    A. If the following actions were executed, the monitor driver may need to \
    be re-installed.
    l     Change video graphic adapter to another one
    l     Update video driver
    l     Activities on OS, such as service pack or patch
    l     Run Windows Update and updated monitor and/or video driver
    l     Windows was booted with the monitor power off or disconnected.
    To find out, please right click My Computer and click on Properties->Har\
    dware-> Device Manager.  
    If you see Plug and Play Monitor shows under Monitor, then you need to\
     re-install. Simply remove 
    SmartControl and re-install it. 
     
    Q4. After installing SmartControl, when clicking on SmartControl tab, nothi\
    ng shows up after a while 
    or a failure message shows, what happened?
    A. It might be your graphic adaptor is not compatible with the SmartContro\
    l. If your graphic adaptor 
    is one of the above mentioned brands, try to download the most updated g\
    raphic adaptor driver 
    from corresponding companies’ web site. Install the driver. Remove Sm\
    artControl, and re-install it 
    once more.
    If it is still not working, we are sorry that the graphic adaptor is not\
     supported. Please pay attention 
    to Philips’ web site for any updated SmartControl driver available.
    Q5. When I click on Product Information, only partial information is shown,\
     what happened?
    A. It might be your graphic card adaptor driver is not the most updated ve\
    rsion which fully 
    supporting DDC/CI interface. Please try to download the most updated gra\
    phic adaptor driver from 
    corresponding companies’ web site. Install the driver. Remove SmartCo\
    ntrol, and re-install it once 
    more.
    Q6. In a monitor with the SmartImage feature, the sRGB scheme of color temp\
    erature function in 
    SmartControl is not responding, why? 
     
    A. When SmartImage is enabled, the sRGB scheme is disabled automatically. \
    To use sRGB, you 
    need to disable SmartImage with the 
     button at the front bezel of your monitor.
