    Host name Contact your Internet service provider and enter the assigned host
    name if required.
    Network speed Select the network speed by pressing the [o] button.
    Selectable parameters: auto (default setting), 100 Mbps (full
    duplex), 100 Mbps (half duplex), 10 Mbps (full duplex), 10 Mbps
    (half duplex)
    HTTP port If two or more cameras are connected, each camera needs to be
    set up individually.
    The port numbers already assigned to other hardware are not
    available.
    The following are already assigned to the camera.
    Port numbers: 20, 21, 23, 25, 53, 67, 68, 38, 80, 546, 547
    The following are not usable if the FTP client function is set to ON.
    Port numbers: from 4000 to 5000
    Do not use the same port number set for the Panasonic protocol
    when using the Panasonic Protocol function.
    Do not use the same port number set for NTP when using the
    NTP function.
    DHCP Click ON if the router uses DHCP.
    DNS Click ON when using the DNS server.
    Primary DNS 0, 0, 0, 0
    Secondary DNS Enter the IP address of DNS when using the DNS server.
    Contact your Internet service provider for the IP address of the
    DNS. Primary and secondary IP addresses can be set for the
    DNS.
    DDNS Click ON when using the DDNS function.
    Host name Ask your administrator
    User name Ask your administrator
    Password Ask your administrator
    Access interval Ask your administrator
    Preliminary Setup
    Prior to connection to the system, you need to set up a
    network address for the camera by one-to-one connec-
    tion with a PC. 
    The factory default parameters are as follows:
    IP address: 192.168.0.10
    Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
    Gateway: 192.168.0.1
    HTTP port number: 80
    Network Cable (Cross type)
    1. Enter an IP address, http://192.168.0.10 for exam-
    ple, in the address bar of the browser to display
    the main page of the WV-NS324 camera.
    2. Click the [Setup Menu] button. The authentication
    dialog appears. 
    						
    							-22- 3. Enter admin in the user name line. According to
    the default setting, you need not enter the pass-
    word. The Network Setup window appears.
    4. Set the following parameters.
    Note:Ask your system administrator about param-
    eters if you are unsure.
    IP Address:Enter numbers 0 through 255 into four
    sections split by dots.
    Netmask:Enter numbers 0 through 255 into four
    sections split by dots.
    HTTP Port:Enter different numbers for each when
    multiple cameras are connected.
    DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol):
    When set to ON, you need not input the IP
    address and netmask.
    DNS (Domain Name System):Set to ON when
    using DNS. Enter the primary address. If nec-
    essary, enter the secondary address.
    When set to AUTO, the DHCP server will auto-
    matically send you an address.
    DDNS (Dynamic DNS):Consult your system
    administrator. 
    Note:You can correct the DHCP setting to off via
    the Panasonic IP setting or Camera control
    menu if you have wrongly set DHCP to ON in a
    none-DHCP/DHCP server system.
    For details refer to Setup included in the
    Panasonic IP Setup Software provided.
    5. Click the [SET&REBOOT] button. The changed
    parameters will be validated, and the camera and
    the PC will restart.
    Notes:
    •Do not omit step 4 above to validate new
    parameters.
    •Wait around 5 seconds or more when execut-
    ing [SET&REBOOT] button.
    6. Close the browser software, and the PC. 
    						
    							-23- You can operate the camera in two ways: with the PC
    by way of network, or with the Matrix Switcher system
    controllers. 
    Access from the PC
    Your PC can access the camera to view images, to
    control and to set up menus. 
    Prior to operating from the PC, confirm that connections
    are made properly as shown in CONNECTIONS on the
    previous page.
    1. Start up the PC.
    2. Start up the Web browser, Internet Explorer or
    Netscape Communicator.
    3. Enter the IP address of the camera in the address
    bar.
    The factory default for the camera address is
    192.168.0.10.
    4. Press Enter on the keyboard.
    5. The main window of the WV-NS324 camera will
    appear on the display.
    Note:Adobe Acrobat Reader should have been
    installed on your PC to open the manual. Visit
    the home pages of Adobe Systems Incorpo-
    rated.Camera Control
    1. Click Camera Control in the Main Menu.
    2. The authentication dialog appears.
    The factory default is:
    User Name : admin
    Password: none 
    3. Click the [OK] button, then the Camera Control
    window appears.
    See pages 48 and 49 of User setup/Host setup for
    more information if necessary.
    Multi Screen Select
    Click the [1-4] or [5-8] button of Multi Screen Select.
    OPERATING THE CAMERA 
    						
    							-24- You can monitor pictures from multiple cameras on a
    multiscreen on the monitor multiscreen
    Pictures of up to four cameras can be displayed as a
    group.
    To monitor camera pictures on the multiscreen, the
    cameras need to be set up in advance. (See p. 50 for
    details.)
    Note:Only still pictures (JPEG) can be monitored on a
    multiscreen.
    1:Spot, go-return switch button
    1-4:Multiscreen 1-4 (Group A), go-return switch
    button
    5-8:Multiscreen 5-8 (Group B), go-return switch
    button
    Click the Multiscreen 1-4 or 5-8 button, and you
    can see 4 pictures at a time.
    Preset Select
    You can see the preset viewpoint by clicking one of the
    16 buttons.
    Go to Main Menu
    Click this button to access the Main Menu.
    WV-NS324
    Indicates the name of the camera
    ALARM
    ALARM is indicated when alarm input is received.
    AUTO PAN
    On - Off switch button
    HOME POSITION
    The viewpoint is shifted to the HOME position when
    clicking this button. The home position can be changed
    only in the setup menu of the camera.
    MULTI SHOT (Still picture)
    Click the [MULTI SHOT] button.
    8 still pictures are shown above of the joystick oval but-
    ton in the camera control window.
    Click one of the eight pictures; the camera focuses on
    the preset position.
    Notes:
    •MULTISHOT does not work while a camera menu is
    open.
    •The MULTISHOT function is canceled when cam-
    era control is performed.
    •You cannot operate MULTISHOT during access by
    other operators.
    360 Map – Preset selector for MULTI SHOT
    Select 360 Map or Preset by pressing the [o] button.
    360 Map:The camera takes 8 still pictures while pan-
    ning automatically by 45 degrees.
    Preset:The camera takes 8 still pictures according to
    Preset 1 to Preset 8.
    Notes:
    •Presets 9 to 16 are not available for taking pictures.
    •If you skip a preset position number in the setting,
    the skipped number cannot be preset afterward.
    The skipped number is replaced with its next previ-
    ous number, and the picture on the next previous
    number is displayed on the position of the skipped
    number.
    •MULTISHOT does not work normally when operat-
    ing on a low speed network.
    •The 8 still pictures will be erased when clicking the
    tabs of Alarm List or Setup Menu while executing
    this function.
    •The PAN LIMIT will be ignored when executing this
    function.
    •This function will stop when alarm arises.
    Joystick Oval Button
    Pan/tilt:Press the left button of your PC mouse on
    this button. The operation speed changes at
    the clicked position; the outside is faster than
    the middle position of the oval button.
    Zoom/focus:Press the right button of your PC
    mouse on this button. The operation speed
    changes at the clicked position; the outside is
    faster than the middle position of the oval but-
    ton.
    AF:Click the [AF] button, Auto focus turns on.
    ZOOM:Press the [WIDE] or [TELE] button for
    adjustment.
    FOCUS:Press the [NEAR] or [FAR] button for
    adjustment.
    Or click the viewpoint of the camera image by
    pressing the left button of your PC mouse on
    the monitor screen; this shifts the clicked point
    to the center of the monitor screen.
    AUX
    HIGH:Output terminals are opened.(Open collec-
    tor)
    LOW:Output terminals are shortened.(Open col-
    lector)
    IRIS
    CLOSE:Pressing closes the iris.
    OPEN:Pressing opens the iris.
    RESET:Returns the iris level to the factory default.
    Access from a System Device
    You can operate and set up the camera from connect-
    ed system devices such as a Video Multiplexer, Matrix
    Switcher, or system controller.
    Note:For operating the camera from a system device,
    see the manual included with that device.

    							-26- This section describes setup procedures common to
    accesses from the PC, e.g. transmitting images to an
    FTP server, sending alarm notice mail, auxiliary device
    control, clock setup, and LED control.
    Buttons Used for Setup Menus
    Click the buttons on the computer display. Each button
    is assigned functions in the setup as follows.
    Camera Setup Menus
    • From the PC
    1. Open the main page of the WV-NS324 camera,
    referring to page 45.
    Login as a level-1 administrator in the dialog box if
    requested.
    2. Click the [Camera Setup] button on the left side of
    the screen.
    The login dialog box will appear.
    Note:Confirm the entered IP address when neither
    the dialog box nor the main page appears.
    You may need to re-enter the IP address.
    3. Enter the registered user name and password. 
    Note:Enter admin when you operate the system
    for the very first time, or you have not regis-
    tered user names yet. At this time, you need
    not to enter the password.
    Menu control buttons will appear under the camera
    image.4. Click the [Menu ON] button to overlay ** SET UP
    MENU ** on the camera image. The cursor is high-
    lighted in the window.
    Note:Refer to the next page for setup operations.
    5. Click the [MENU OFF] button after finishing the
    setup operations.
    The changed settings will be stored in the camera,
    and the overlaid camera menu will disappear.
    Notes: 
    •If the browser screen pauses, access the cam-
    era again on the WWW-browser to validate the
    settings for PC oriented items.
    •You can exit from the camera setup by clicking
    the [Return] button, though the menu is dis-
    played if the [MENU OFF] button has not been
    clicked yet.
    PRIOR TO SETUP
    Menu ON/OFF button: Opens or closes the setup menu.
    ESC button: Returns to the previous menu 
       (one layer higher) .
    UP/DOWN button: 
    Moves up and down 
    the cursor (pointer).
    RIGHT/LEFT button: 
    Selects parameters, 
    adjusts some levels.
    SET button: Validates 
    the selection, opens a 
    detailed menu.

    assumption that this model is used in combination with
    the WJ-SX550C Matrix Switcher and WV-CU550CJ
    System Controller. In case a controller other than the
    WV-CU550CJ is used, refer to the table on page 29.
    ■Menu Display

    WV-CU550CJ
    1. Select the camera number you want to set up and
    a monitor to display the SET UP MENU.
    2. Display the D4 menu on the LCD by pressing the
    appropriate cursor buttons.
    3. Press the [F1] button.
    SET UP MENU appears on the monitor screen.
    4. To close the SET UP MENU, press the [F4] button.
    WV-CU360CJ
    Press the CAM SETUP key while holding down the
    SHIFT key to open the SETUP menu.
    WV-CU161C
    Press the CAMERA SETUP key for 2 seconds or
    more to open the SETUP menu.
    WV-RM70
    1. Turn the MODE SELECTION switch to NORMAL or
    ALARM OFF.
    2. Press the PROG switch for 2 seconds or more to
    open the Program Menu.
    3. Move the cursor to Camera Set Up Menu, and
    press the SET switch to open the SETUP MENU.
    ●Submenu Display
    The items marked Ocan be selected/changed on the
    submenu.
    •Move the cursor to an item with the Omark and
    press the CAM (SET) key. The submenu appears.
    ■Presetting

    1.Displaying the preset menu directly
    (1) Move the cursor to PRESET 1 Oand select
    the position number by moving the joystick to
    the right or left.
    (2) Press the CAM (SET) key.
    The preset setting menu appears on the moni-
    tor screen.
    2.Displaying the preset menu from the PRESET
    NUMBER SET menu
    (1) Move the cursor to MAP Oand press the
    CAM (SET) key.
    The PRESET NUMBER SET menu appears on
    the monitor screen.
    (2) Move the cursor to the position number to be
    set and press the CAM (SET) key.
    The preset setting menu appears on the moni-
    tor screen.
    Notes:
    •The * mark indicates that the position number
    has been preset.
    •The character H refers to the home position.
    •On the second bottom line, the preset ID
    appears respective to the selected number.
    DOOR next to ID in the example shown right
    is for preset position number 1.

    ●Position Setting (POSITION SET)
    Aligns the camera position and focal point by panning,
    tilting, zooming and focusing.
    1.Move the cursor to POSITION SET on the preset
    setting menu and press the CAM (SET) key.
    The position setting menu appears.
    2. To Set Panning/Tilting Positions
    (1) Move the cursor to PUSH SET for PAN/TILT
    and press the CAM (SET) key. The PAN/TILT
    setting menu appears.
    (2) Select panning/tilting positions by moving the
    joystick up and down, right and left, and press
    the CAM (SET) key.
    The positions are set and the screen returns to
    the position setting menu.
    Note:When you press the CAM (SET) key, the
    camera might move slightly to memorize the
    nearest panning/tilting position.
    3. To Set the Lens Zoom and Focus Positions
    (1) Move the cursor to PUSH SET for
    ZOOM/FOCUS and press the CAM (SET) key.
    The ZOOM/FOCUS setting menu appears.
    (2) Select a zoom position by moving the zoom
    control up and down, and a focus position by
    moving the focus control up and down, and
    then press the CAM (SET) key.
    The positions are set and the screen returns to
    the position setting menu.Notes:
    •When the camera is used at a nearly horizontal
    angle, the focus may not be adjustable to a
    high level of accuracy.
    •If you move the cursor to the position number
    and move the joystick to the right or left, the
    position number can be selected.
    The selected preset position number can also
    be set after pressing the CAM (SET) key.
    •The preset and camera IDs appear in the
    lower-left corner of the position setting menu
    after they have been set.
    •With the WV-CU550CJ, you can also select a
    zoom position by moving the zoom wheel con-
    troller to the right or left.
    •With the WV-CU550CJ, you can also select a
    focus position automatically by pressing the
    top button.
    4.Move the cursor to RET and press the CAM (SET)
    key to return to the preset setting menu.
