    •RAM It is not possible to erase the program when you are carrying out 
    simultaneous recording and play. (p. 48)
    •
    DVD-R The amount of space remaining on the disc does not increase 
    even if you erase programs.
    •  If the confirmation screen disappears before you complete the operation, 
    start from the beginning again.
    •  It is not possible to erase a title that is in the process of being recorded.

    Changing audio during play
    1 Press AUDIO.
    How the type changes depends on when you press the button. You can change the audio being received or played.

    -  Change “Dolby Digital” to “PCM” (p. 69), or “Bitstream.”
    -  Connect also with an audio cable (pp. 14-15) and change the input on 
    the receiver.

    Erase
    The title is irretrievably erased when you use this procedure and 
    cannot be retrieved. Check the title carefully before erasing to 
    ensure it isn’t one you want to keep.
    2 Press {y to select “Erase” and press ENTER.
    Notes:•  The disc’s available recording time may not increase after erasing short 
    titles.
    •  The available recording time on DVD-R does not increase when you 
    erase titles.
    Properties

    •  The full name is shown in the “Properties” screen, but if you enter a long

    You can remove unnecessary parts of the recording such as 
    commercials.
    •  The program segment, and play list scenes created from it, are erased 
    irretrievably when you use this procedure. Check carefully before 
    proceeding.
    4 Press x{ to select “Erase” and press ENTER.
    „ To erase another part of the same title
    After storing the point in “Start” and “End”, select “Next” in Step 2 
    and perform Step 4, then repeat Steps 2~4.
    Notes:
    •  You may not be able to specify start and end points within 3 seconds of 
    each other.
    •  You cannot specify start and end points if the picture recorded is stilled.
    •  The unit pauses when the title reaches its end during this procedure.
    •  The disc’s available recording time may not increase after erasing short

    2 Press {y to select “Erase” and press ENTER.•  Even if you erase the chapter, the original title is not erased.

    2  Press ENTER at the point you want to divide.•  See “For quicker editing” on this page.

    Notes:•  The divided chapters retain the name of the original title. They also retain 
    the CPRM property (p. 74) of the original.
    •  It is not possible to carry out “Divide”, when the resulting part(s) are 
    extremely short.
