11 Inser ting a Memor y Card An SD Memory Card can be used for this SD Multi AV Device. 1Hold the Memory Card placing the cut off corner 1 at the front with the label 2 facing up, and then insert it fully into the Memory Card Slot horizontally. ≥Turn off the SD Multi AV Device before inserting a Card. ªRemoving the Memory Card Slide the Card Eject Lever 3 to remove the Memory Card and pull it out. CAUTION Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type recommended by the manufacturer. Dispose of used batteries according to the manufacturer’s instructions. CARD EJECT 1
12 Using the LCD Monitor Record and play the video image while viewing the LCD Monitor. 1Put your finger on the groove 1 to open the LCD Monitor. 2Adjust the LCD Monitor angle according to the desired recording/playing angle. ≥The LCD Monitor can rotate up to the angles illustrated. 1 : Up to 120° maximum 2 : Up to 180° maximum 3 : Up to 90° maximum Using the Remote Controller/ Ear phones 1Connect the Remote Controller with the [ ] terminal of the SD Multi AV Device. 2Plug the Earphone terminal into the connected Remote Controller if necessary. ≥The Earphones can be connected directly with the SD Multi AV Device. ªOperating the Remote Controller 1[:]: Selects the previous file or fast- rewinds the files. 2[9]: Selects the next file or fast-forwards the files. 3[_/1µ]: Records/Stops recording images or sounds in the [REC] mode. 18 REC OFFPLAY Setting the Power Supply Frequency Set the power supply frequency before using the SD Multi AV Device. The power supply frequency is different depending on the country or region. Adjustment of the frequency will help reduce the appearance of horizontal stripes consisting of light and dark patterns under fluorescent lighting. 1Set the Power/Mode Switch to [REC]. (l13) 2Press the [MENU] Button. 3Select [INITIAL SETUP] and press the [1SET] Button. 4Set [AC MAINS] to [50Hz] or [60Hz]. ªTo Reduce the Appearance of Horizontal Stripes Consisting of Light and Dark Patterns If adjustment of the frequency does not have much effect on reducing horizontal stripes, operate the SD Multi AV Device as follows. (for MPEG4 mode and PICTURE mode) 1Set the Power/Mode Switch to [REC]. (l13) 2Press [] for approx. 1 second. ≥The [] Indication appears when the horizontal stripes reduction function is activated. 19 Adjusting Brightness and Color Level on the LCD Monitor LCD Brightness [BRIGHTNESS] It adjusts the brightness of the image on the LCD screen. LCD Color Level [COLOR] It adjusts the color saturation of the image on the LCD screen. 1Set the Power/Mode Switch to [REC] and set the operation mode to [PICTURE] or [MPEG4]. 2Press the [MENU] Button. 3Select [DISPLAY SETUP] and press the [1SET] Button. 4Select [BRIGHTNESS] or [COLOR]. 5Press the LEFT/RIGHT side of the Multi- function Button for adjustment. ≥If [BRIGHTNESS] is selected, the brightness can be increased by moving the [3] to the right. ≥If [COLOR] is selected, the color can become darker by moving the [3] to the right. 6Press the [MENU] Button. ≥The [MENU] screen disappears. 20 Basic Functions Recording Still Pictures Records still pictures. 1Set the Power/Mode Switch to [REC] and set the operation mode to [PICTURE]. 2Press the [MENU] Button. 3Set [QUALITY] to desired picture quality. ≥Select one of [FINE], [NORMAL], or [ECONOMY]. 4To use the flash, Set [FLASH] to [ON] or [AUTO]. ≥In a dark place, will be displayed and the Flash will be available when it is set to [AUTO]. ≥Set [FLASH] to [OFF] to inactivate the Flash. 5Press the [MENU] Button. 6Press the Recording Start/Stop Button. ≥The still image is recorded on the Memory Card. ªTo Double the Image Size Press [2k] for approx. 1 second 1. ≥Press [2k] again to turn back to the normal size. ªTo Check the Recorded Image immediately Press the [1SET] Button 2. ≥The recorded image displays for 5 seconds. ≥The [REVIEW] Indication is displayed.≥Press the [MENU] Button when the checking display appears to show [ERASE CARD FILE] display.
