See page 7 for accessory information. 1Open the front cover by pulling up the center part. 2Push the back cover open button (green) on the right side of the unit. OR Push the back cover open lever (green) inside of the unit. 3Open the back cover. 4Remove the used core and the used ink film. 5Remove the stoppers and tags from the new ink film. 6Insert the gear of blue core of the front ink film roll into the left slot of the unit (1). Insert the rear ink film roll (2). LMake sure that the ink film is wrapped around the blue core at least once.8Close the back cover securely by pushing down on the dotted area at both ends (1). Close the front cover securely (2). LThe following message will be displayed while the unit is checking that there is no slack in the ink film. PLEASE WAIT Note: LThe ink film is safe to touch, and will not rub off on your hands like carbon paper. Cleaning Document feeder If misfeeding occurs frequently or if smudges, black lines or white lines appear on a transmitted document or on the original of a copied document, clean the document feeder. 1Disconnect the power cord and the telephone line cord. 2Open the front cover by pulling up the center part. 3Clean the document feeder rollers and rubber flap with a cloth moistened with isopropyl rubbing alcohol, and let all parts dry thoroughly. Caution: LDo not use paper products, such as paper towels or tissues. 4Clean the glass with a soft dry cloth. Clean the thermal head to remove the dust. 1Disconnect the power cord and the telephone line cord. 2Open the front cover by pulling up the center part. 3Push the back cover open button (green) on the right side of the unit. OR Push the back cover open lever (green) inside of the unit. 4Open the back cover. Remove the ink film. 5Clean the thermal head with a cloth moistened with isopropyl rubbing alcohol, and let it dry thoroughly. Caution: LTo prevent a malfunction due to static electricity, do not use a dry cloth and do not touch the thermal head directly. Setup list: provides you with the current settings of the basic and advanced programming features (page 70 to page 74). Telephone number list: provides you with names and telephone numbers which are stored in one-touch dial and navigator directory. Journal report: keeps records of fax transmission and reception. This report will be printed automatically after every 30 fax communications (feature #22 on page 71). Printer test: allows you to check the print quality of your unit. If the test print has a smudge, or blurred points or lines, clean the thermal head (page 88). Broadcast programming list: provides you with entries which are stored in the broadcast feature (page 42). Caller ID list: keeps records of the last 30 callers after subscribing to a Caller ID service.
