AF assist lamp is in use.
– Do not look into the AF assist lamp.
– Detach the lens hood.
– Do not cover the AF assist lamp with 
your fingers when taking a picture.
– The battery may be consumed faster 
than usual when using the AF assist 
lamp.
 In auto mode [ ], the [AF ASSIST 
LAMP] setting is fixed to [ON].

situation and the atmosphere of the picture.
 When you take pictures in dark places, 
noise may become visible. To avoid 
picture noise, we recommend setting 
[NOISE REDUCTION] in [PICT.ADJ.] to 
[HIGH] or setting the items except [NOISE 
REDUCTION] to [LOW] to take pictures.This camera allows you to create motion

The tele conversion lens (DMW-LT55; 
optional) allows you to record pictures 
zooming in much more (1.7 times). The 
wide conversion lens (DMW-LW55; 
optional) allows you to record pictures with 
wider range of focus than usual (0.7 times).

 Always set to Tele when using a tele 
conversion lens and to Wide when 
using a wide conversion lens.
 The conversion icon ([ ] or [ ]) 
changes from red (blinking) to white.

After installing the extra flash (DMW-FL28; 
optional), the effective range will be 
increased when compared to the camera’s 
built in flash.
1Attach the extra flash to the hot 
shoe A and turn the camera and 
the extra flash on.

∫Settings on the extra flash
 [PRESET]
– When setting to [PRESET] and 
attaching the extra flash, the aperture 
value and the ISO sensitivity are 
respectively set to [F4] and [ISO100] on 
the camera regardless of the recording 
mode. Set the extra flash to [AUTO] and 
set the same value as the settings on 
the camera.
– We recommend setting to [PRESET] for 
normal use.

pictures at one time when the extra flash is 
attached.
 Set [EX.FLASH BURST] to [ON].
 Press the Single/Burst Mode Button to 
switch the burst mode setting.
