Connecting to a PictBridge-compliant Printer
By connecting the camera directly to a 
printer supporting PictBridge via the USB 
connection cable (supplied), you can select 
the pictures to be printed or start printing 
on the LCD monitor.
Set the print settings such as print quality 
on the printer beforehand. (Read the printer

1Select a picture to be printed.

the printer are displayed in gray and

DPOF print in advance
When the printer supports the date printing 
by DPOF setting, we recommend setting 
the date printing with the DPOF print in

Using the Remote Shutter
The remote shutter (DMW-RS1; optional) 
works similar to the shutter button on the 
camera. You can avoid jitter (camera 
shake) when using a tripod.
1Connect the remote shutter to the 
[REMOTE] socket on the camera 
firmly.
2Focus on the subject and take a

Using the MC Protector/ND Filter
The MC protector (DMW-LMC55; optional) 
is a transparent filter which affects neither 
the colors nor the amount of light, so it can 
always be used to protect the camera’s 
lens.
The ND filter (DMW-LND55; optional) 
reduces the amount of light to 
approximately 1/8th (equal to adjusting the 
aperture value 3 increments) without 
affecting the color balance.

∫Optimal Use of the Camera
When carrying the camera, take care not 
to drop or cause impact to it.
 The lens or the outer case may be 
destroyed by the strong shock, and it 
causes a malfunction of the camera.

The battery is a rechargeable lithium ion 
battery. Its ability to generate power is 
based upon the chemical reaction that 
takes place inside it. This reaction is
