Answering system T he answering system can answer and record calls for you when you are unavailable to answer the phone. You can also set the unit to play a greeting message but not to record caller messages by selecting “Greeting only ” as the recording time setting (page 46). Remote access code A 3-digit remote access code must be entered when operating the answering system remotely. This code prevents unauthorized parties from listening to your messages remotely. The default setting is “111 ”. Answering system settings Call screening Handset / Base unit W hile a caller is leaving a message, you can listen to the call through the unit’s speaker. To adjust the speaker volume, press Mj N or M k N repeatedly. You can answer the call by pressing M N on the handset or MZ N on the base unit *1 . Call screening can be set for each unit.
