    Entering Names and Symbols(Cordless\Handset)
    The cordless handset dialing buttons ((0)to (9))
    can be used to enter letters and symbols.
    The letters are printed on the dialing buttons.
    Pressing each button selects a character as
    shown below.
    ≥To enter another character using the same dialing button, press (fl)to move the
    cursor to the next space.
    If you make a mistake while entering a name
    Use (fi)or (fl)to move the cursor to the incorrect character, press
    (CLEAR/INTERCOM/HOLD)to delete and enter the correct character. Each
    time you press 
    (CLEAR/INTERCOM/HOLD), a character is erased.
    To erase all characters, press and hold 
    (CLEAR/INTERCOM/HOLD).

    You can store up to 3 phone numbers in the DIRECT buttons.
    Make sure the base unit and cordless handset are not being used.

    ≥The DIGITAL SP-PHONE indicator lights.
    ≥The stored number is dialed.
    ≥Numbers stored in the base unit can only be dialed by the base unit.
    ≥You can also dial the stored number by pressing (DIGITAL\SP-PHONE)or lifting
    the handset then pressing the DIRECT button.

    Intercom“
    (Cordless\Handset) (Base\Unit)
    A 2-way intercom is possible between the cordless handset and the base unit.
    Paging the base unit from the cordless handset
    1
    Cordless handset:
    Press 
    (CLEAR/INTERCOM/HOLD).
    Talk to the paged party after the beeps.
    ≥“Intercom” is displayed.

    Base unit:
    When the other party’s voice is
    heard, lift the handset or talk into
    the MIC.

    To end the intercom, press 
    (OFF)on the cordless 
    handset.
    OR
    When using the handset, place the handset on the cradle.
    When using the speakerphone, press 
    (LOCATOR/INTERCOM).
    Paging the cordless handset from the base unit (Handset
    locator)
    Using this feature, you can locate a misplaced cordless handset.

    Base unit:
    Lift the handset and press 
    (LOCATOR/INTERCOM)within 5 seconds.
    ≥The cordless handset beeps for 1 minute and displays “Paging 
    Press INTERCOM”.
    ≥To stop paging, place the handset on the cradle.

    Cordless handset:
    Press 
    (CLEAR/INTERCOM/HOLD)to answer.
    ≥“Intercom” is displayed.

    Base unit:
    Talk into the handset.

    To end the intercom, press (OFF)on the cordless handset.

    ≥In step 1, the base unit user can also page by pressing (LOCATOR/INTERCOM)
    directly. You do not need to lift the handset.
    —If the cordless handset user does not answer, press (LOCATOR/INTERCOM)
    to stop paging.
    ≥—If the cordless handset user answers, talk into the MIC.
    To end the intercom from the base unit, press (LOCATOR/INTERCOM).

    “ Intercom
    During an intercom call:
    ≥If the cordless handset user has difficulty hearing the base unit user,
    decrease the base unit speaker volume by pressing (›).
    ≥If an incoming call is received, the intercom call stops and the unit starts to
    ring. To answer, press  , (DIGITAL\SP-PHONE)or place the handset
    and lift it again. The intercom is ended.
    Transferring a Call Using the Intercom
    (Cordless\Handset) (Base\Unit)
    The intercom can be used during a call. This feature enables you to
    transfer a call between the cordless handset and the base unit.
    From the cordless
    handset to the base unit

    Cordless handset:
    During a call, press
    (CLEAR/INTERCOM/HOLD).
    ≥The call is put on hold and
    “Line on HOLD. 
    To transfer press
    INTERCOM.” is displayed.

    again. Talk to the paged
    party after the beeps.
    ≥If the base unit user does not
    answer, press  to return to
    a call.
