    Preparation
    Setting Date/Time (Clock Set)
    •The clock is not set when the camera is shipped.
    1Turn the camera on.
    •The status indicator 1 lights when you turn this unit on.
    •If the language select screen is not displayed, proceed to 
    step4.
    2Touch [Language Set].
    3Select the language.
    4Touch [Clock Set].
    5Touch the items you wish to set (Year/Month/
    Day/Hours/Minutes), and set using [ ]/[ ].
    A: Time at the home area
    B : Time at the travel destination
    •
    You can continue to switch the settings by continuously 
    touching [ ]/[ ] .
    •Touch [ ] to cancel the date and time settings without 
    setting a date and time.
    To set the display order and the time display format.
    •Touch [Style] to display the settings screen for setting 
    display order/time display format.
    6Touch [Set]  to set.
    7Touch [Set] in the confirmation screen.
    •When the clock setting is complete, the confirmation screen for the function lever setting 
    is displayed. Select [Change] or [Exit]. (You can check/uncheck the check box each 
    time you touch [Don’t show this again].)
    For [Function Lever] refer to  P20.

    Select [Clock Set] in the [Setup] menu. (P43)
    •The clock can be reset as shown in steps 5 and 6.•The clock setting is maintained for 3 months using the built-in clock battery even 
    without the battery. (Leave the charged battery in the unit for 24 hours to charge the 
    built-in battery.)
    •If the clock is not set, the correct date cannot be printed when you stamp the date on the 
    pictures with [Text Stamp] or order a photo studio to print the pictures.
    •If the clock is set, the correct date can be printed even if the date is not displayed on the screen 
    of the camera.

    Setting the Menu
    This camera offers menu selections that allow you to customize its operation to maximize 
    your picture taking experience.
    In particular, the [Setup] menu contains some important settings relating to the camera’s 
    clock and power. Check the settings of this menu before proceeding to use the camera.
    You can set the menus using two types of operation - touch operations in which you touch 
    the screen, and button operations in which you press the cursor button and rotate the rear 
    dial.
    Example: In the [Rec] menu, change [Quality] from [
    A] to [›]
    1Press [MENU/SET].
    •The top menu screen is displayed.
    2Touch the menu icon.
    Setting menu items
    •If you set [Menu Resume]  (P61) in the [Setup] menu to [ON], the screen shows the last 
    selected menu item when the camera was turned off.
    It is set to [ON] at the time of purchase.
    •When [Menu Information]  (P61) in the [Setup] menu is set to [ON], explanations of the 
    menu items and settings are displayed on the menu screen.

     (P186  to 210) This menu lets you set the aspect ratio, number of pixels 
    and other aspects of the pictures you are recording.
    [Motion Picture]
     
    (P219  to 221) This menu lets you set the [Rec Format], [Rec Quality], 
    and other aspects for motion picture recording.
    [Custom]
     
    (P326  to 328) Operation of the unit, such as displaying of the screen 
    and button operations, can be set up according to your 
    preferences. Also, it is possi
    ble to register the modified 
    settings.
    [Setup]
      (P55  to 63) This menu lets you perform the clock settings, select the 
    operating beep tone settings and set other settings 
    which make it easier for you to operate the camera.
    You can also configure the settings of Wi-Fi related 
    functions.
    [Playback]
     
    (P222  to 243) This menu lets you set the Protection, Cropping or Print 
    Settings, etc. of recorded pictures.
    (When operating buttons)

    3/4 /2 /1 of the cursor button to select the menu and press [MENU/
    SET], or rotate the rear dial to select the menu, and press the rear dial.
    3Touch the menu item.
    •The page can be changed by touching [ ]/[ ].

    SET], or rotate the rear dial to select the menu item, and press the rear dial.

    It will switch to the next page when you reach the bottom.•You can also move to the next screen by moving the function lever.•You can also move to the next screen by pressing [DISP.].

    •There are functions that cannot be set or used depending on the modes or menu settings being 
    used on the camera due to the specifications.
    4Touch the Setting to set.
    •Depending on the menu item, its setting may not appear 
    or it may be displayed in a different way.

    or rotate the rear dial to select the setting, and press the rear dial.
    A brief description appears when you touch a menu item/option in steps 
    3 and 4.
    •It will be set when you release your finger.•You can avoid selecting an item by dragging your finger to a vacant area and releasing 
    the finger there.

    Preparation
    You can set the background for the menu screen according to your preferences. You can 
    also set one of the recorded still images as the background on the top menu screen.
    1Press [MENU/SET] to display the top menu.
    2Touch [Background Image].
    3Touch the item.
    •
    Touch [Registered image] or [No static image] to change to the selected background.
    4(When [From SD card] is selected) Drag the screen 
    horizontally and select an image.
    5(When [From SD card] is selected) Touch [Set].
    •Confirmation screen is displayed. It is executed when [Yes] 
    is selected.
    Not available in these cases:
    •
    Images recorded using another device cannot be used as the background.

    Calling frequently-used menus instantly 
    (Quick Menu)
    By using the Quick Menu, some of the menu settings can be easily found.
    •The features that can be adjusted using Quick Menu are determined by the mode or a display 
    style the camera is in.
    1Press [Q.MENU] to display the Quick Menu.
    2Touch the menu item.
    3Touch the setting.
    4Touch [Exit] to exit menu once the setting is 
    completed.
    •You can close the menu by pressing the shutter button 
    halfway.

    Press [Q.MENU], rotate the rear dial to select an item, and 
    then press the rear dial.
    Rotate the rear dial to select the setting, and then press the 
    rear dial to set it.

    You can also set with  3/4/2/1 and [MENU/SET].
    [Q.MENU]/[Fn1] button can be used in two ways, as [Q.MENU] or as [Fn1] (function 1). 
    At the time of purchase, it is initially set to [Q.MENU].

    When [Q.MENU] (P49) in the [Custom] menu is set to [CUSTOM], the Quick Menu can be 
    changed as desired. Up to 15 items can be set to the Quick Menu.
    1Touch [ ].
    2Select the menu in the top row and drag it to the 
    bottom row.
    A Items that can be setup as Quick Menus.
    B Items that can be displayed in the Quick Menu 
    screen.
    •If there is no empty space in the bottom row, drag it 
    into the menu item to be replaced.
    New item can be set replacing the old item.
    •When the item is dragged from the bottom row to the 
    top row, the setting will be canceled and that space will 
    become empty.
