Please call 1-800-8-BATTERY for information on how to recycle this battery. 2 Push up on the triangle of the battery holder to release (#), and bring down the holder ($). Remove the old battery. Insert the new battery into the handset as shown, matching the correct polarity (%). 3 Bring up the holder and insert the tab into the slot. 62 Canceling Registration/Re-registration Canceling the Handset Registration If you no longer need to use the handset or if you need to register the handset to a different base unit of the same model, it may be necessary to cancel the registration. Only one handset can be canceled at a time near the base unit. Make sure the handset and the base unit are not being used. 1 Press (SNOOZE/ALARM). • You can also press (CONF/FUNCTION)to directly enter the function menu and go to step 3. 2 Within 5 seconds, press the soft key (). 3 Scroll to “Initial setting” by pressing Öor Ñ, and press á. 4 Scroll to “Registration” by pressing Ö or Ñ, and press á. 5 Scroll to “Deregistration” by pressing Öor Ñ, and press á. 6 Press (3)(3)(5)(DEL.) to delete the registration memory. •If you make a mistake, press (HOLD/CLEAR), and enter “335”. 7 Press the soft key ( ). •A beep sounds and the registration memory will be erased on both the handset and the base unit. • If 3 beeps sound, you entered a wrong code. Enter “335”, and press the soft key ( ). •To register the handset to the base unit again, start from step 5 on page 63 or see page 10. • “[-]”is shown on the bottom right of the display. •You can exit the programming mode any time by pressing (SNOOZE/ALARM)or (OFF) . •The handset will not work. 63 Useful Information For assistance, please call: 1-800-211-PANA(7262) Re-registering the Handset If you want to re-register the handset to the base unit or a different base unit of the same model, you need to register it to that base unit. The handset will be given a new extension number of that base unit. Only one handset can be registered at a time. Make sure the base unit and the other handsets are not being used. 64 Troubleshooting Problem “Charge for 15HRS” and “ ” appear and the handset does not work. During a conversation, the line is disconnected and “Charge for 15HRS” appears. The alarm does not ring. “Set date & time” is displayed. If you cannot solve your problem Cause & Remedy •The battery has discharged. Charge the battery fully (p. 8, 9). •You have not installed the battery yet. Install the battery (p. 7). •The battery has discharged. Charge the battery fully (p. 8, 9). •If you use the handset and 10 minutes have passed after the alarm time, the alarm will not ring. •The clock has not been set.
