31 Basic Operation For assistance, please call: 1-800-211-PANA(7262) Storing Caller List Information in the Directory You can store phone numbers that are in the Caller List into the directory. Make sure the handset is not being used. 1 Press Öor Ñto enter the Caller List. 2 Scroll to the caller you want to store in the directory by pressing Öor Ñ. •If the number requires editing, press the soft key ( ) (p. 29). 3 Press á. •To stop storing, press Ü. 4 Press áagain. •A beep sounds. •To continue storing other items, repeat from step 2. •To exit the programming mode, press (SNOOZE/ALARM)or (OFF). If there is no name information for the caller, “Enter name” will be displayed. # If a name is not required, press the soft key ( ). If a name is required, enter the name (p. 34). Using the Caller List 32 Erasing Caller List Information Make sure the handset is not being used. To erase a specific caller from the Caller List 1 Press Öor Ñto enter the Caller List. 2 Scroll to the caller you want to erase from the Caller List by pressing Öor Ñ. 3 Press the soft key ( ) or (HOLD/CLEAR). •A beep sounds and “Clear” is displayed. •To erase other items, repeat from step 2. •To exit the Caller List, press (SNOOZE/ALARM)or (OFF). All of the directory items are sorted by the first word in alphabetical order. You can make a call by selecting a name on the display. 38 Sending the Directory You can send a directory item or all the items from your handset to another handset. KX-TG2740 users can also send items to the base unit. Entries copied to the destination unit are added to its directory. (Phone Directory Sharing) •If an external call is being received during the directory transfer, the transfer will be stopped. You will need to re-send the item(s). Make sure the base unit, your handset and the destination unit are not being used. To send one directory item to another handset 1 Press (SNOOZE/ALARM). • You can also press (CONF/FUNCTION)to directly enter the function menu and go to step 3. 2 Within 5 seconds, press the soft key (). 3 Scroll to “Copy directory” by pressing Öor Ñ, and pressá. 4 Press áat “Copy 1 item”. 5 Select the destination extension number by pressing Öor Ñ. •You can also select the extension number by pressing the dialing button ((1)to (8)). Intercom 40 A 2-way intercom is possible between your handset and the base unit or another handset. Making intercom calls 1 Press (HOLD)(INTERCOM). 2 To page the base unit, press (0). To page another handset, enter the extension number ( (1)to (8)). •The paged unit will ring for 1 minute. •To stop paging, press (OFF). 3 When the paged party answers, talk into the handset. •You can switch to the speaker by pressing . You can place the handset on the charger and talk to the other party. To switch back to the receiver, press . 4 To end the intercom, press if using the speakerphone, or press (OFF). Answering intercom calls When an intercom call is being received, the handset rings and the display shows the calling extension. Press , or (HOLD)(INTERCOM). •You can also answer the call by pressing any dialing button (0)to (9), (*)or (#) (Any Key Talk). •If you set the Auto Talk feature to ON (p. 16), you can answer a call by lifting the handset off the charger.
