31 Chapter 1 Basic Menu Features Sharpness The original can be copied by softening or sharpening the outline of the image. 1Select “Sharpness”. zTo display this screen, refer to step 1 of Background Removal (see page 27). 2Adjust the sharpness with “Lower” or “Higher”, and then select “OK”. zThe screen will return to step 1. Select “OK”, and then proceed to steps 6 to 8 of Quality Adjusting (see page 26). Lower Higher LowerEach time it is selected, the sharpness level decreases by 1 grade lower. (The image outline is softened.) HigherEach time it is selected, the sharpness level increases by 1 grade higher. (The image outline is sharpened.)
32 Chapter 1 Basic Menu Features Saturation The original can be copied with the adjusted saturation. 1Select “Saturation”. zTo display this screen, refer to step 1 of Background Removal (see page 27). 2Adjust the saturation with “Lower” or “Higher”, and then select “OK”. zThe screen will return to step 1. Select “OK”, and then proceed to steps 6 to 8 of Quality Adjusting (see page 26). Higher Lower LowerEach time it is selected, the saturation level decreases by 1 grade lower, reducing the color saturation. HigherEach time it is selected, the saturation level increases by 1 grade higher, increasing the color saturation.
33 Chapter 1 Basic Menu Features Color Balance The original can be copied with the adjusted density level (Darker, Medium, and Lighter) of Yellow, Magenta, Cyan, and Black. zThe density of each color can be fine tuned for each of the three density levels. This function is useful for the fine adjustment of color photos. Unlike image editing software, this function cannot greatly change the color tone since the adjustable range at each density level is very narrow. 1Select “Color Balance”. zTo display this screen, refer to step 1 of Background Removal (see page 27). 2Select “Cyan”, and then adjust Darker Areas, Medium Areas, and Lighter Areas with “-” and “+”. zThe density range from the darkest level (100%) to the lightest level (0%) is equally divided into three range areas. 3Select remaining colors, and then adjust the Color Balance as shown in step 2. 4Select “OK”. zThe screen will return to step 1. 34 Chapter 1 Basic Menu Features Proof Copying When making more than one copy, the first copy can be printed as a proof copy. After confirming its quality, the remaining copies can be printed. 1Place original(s). zRefer to Placing Originals (see page 6). 2Press the Copy key if the machine is set to other function mode. 3Select the copy features if necessary. 4Enter the desired number of copies. 5Select “Proof Set”. 6Press the Start key. The first copy is printed and the Confirmation screen appears. 7If the copy quality is satisfactory, select “Ye s”. The remaining copies are printed. ‰If the copy quality is not satisfactory 1Select “No” to return to the Basic Menu screen. 2Place the original again. 3Adjust the quality settings. 4Press the Start key. A proof copy is printed and the Confirmation screen appears. Confirm if the copy quality is acceptable. 5Select “Ye s”. The remaining copies are printed. The remaining copies are made after confirmation. One copy as a proof copy
35 Chapter 1 Basic Menu Features Confir ming/Editing the Selected Copy Features Before copying, the settings of “More Menus” can be checked, changed, and deleted. 1Select “Confirm Settings”. 2Check the settings, and then select “Close”. zIf “Confirm Settings” is selected, the setting screen is displayed and the settings (except 1 -> 1) can be changed. zIf “Reset All” is selected, all the settings are canceled. zIf “Preset Jobs” is selected, the job registration screen is displayed to register jobs. Refer to Storing a Job in Memory (see page 36). Ex:Changing the Non Sort mode to the Shift- Sort mode when optional Finisher and Punch Unit are installed Select “Non Sort”. Select “Shift-Sort”, and then select “OK”. Select “Close”.
36 Chapter 1 Basic Menu Features Storing a Job in Memor y A copy job can be registered as a preset job. It is useful to register the frequently used settings as Preset Jobs. zRefer to Recalling a Preset Job Stored in Memory (see page 37). zOnce registered, the copy job settings are kept in the job memory until they are overwritten by new settings. zA Proof Copy job cannot be registered in the job memory. z“M1:”/“M2:” cannot be registered when the Manual Skyshot mode is selected. Refer to Copier Settings in the Operating Instructions (For Function Parameters) of provided CD-ROM. 1Place original(s). zRefer to Placing Originals (see page 6). 2Press the Copy key if the machine is set to other function mode. 3Select the copy features (see pages 10 to 35 and 42 to 105). 4Enter the desired number of copies. 5Select “Preset Jobs”. 6Select “Save”, and then select a job button without a job registered. zThe job button, in which a job has been registered, has a job name. 7Enter a job name, and then select “OK”. zUp to 20 characters can be entered. zFor instructions on how to enter characters, refer to Using the Keyboard in the Operating Instructions (For Function Parameters) of provided CD-ROM. zAfter completing the editing of the job name, press the Reset key to return to the initial screen of the currently active mode.
37 Chapter 1 Basic Menu Features Recalling a Preset Job Stored in Memor y The specific copy job will be done by recalling the registered preset jobs. zRefer to Storing a Job in Memory (see page 36). 1Place original(s). zRefer to Placing Originals (see page 6). 2Press the Copy key if the machine is set to other function mode. 3Select “Preset Jobs”. 4Select a stored job. zJob buttons without names, indicate that jobs are not registered. zIf the Confirmation screen “Ready for M 1 Memory Copy” is displayed, select “Close”. 5To confirm the job settings, select “Confirm Settings”, and then select “Close”. zTo change the setting, refer to Confirming/ Editing the Selected Copy Features (see page 35). 6Press the Start key.
38 Chapter 1 Basic Menu Features Checking the Waiting to Copy Job A list of jobs currently being printed or waiting to print can be displayed. The following types of jobs can be displayed. • All jobs •Copy jobs Waiting to print jobs can be deleted. Displaying a List of All Jobs A list of all the jobs currently being printed or waiting to print can be displayed. 1Press the Copy key if the machine is set to other function mode. 2Select “Output Queue”. The Output Queue screen is displayed, and a list of all the jobs currently being printed or waiting to print are displayed. 3Select “Close”. Displaying a List of Copy Jobs A list of Copy jobs currently being printed or waiting to print can be displayed. 1Select “Copy” in the Output Queue screen. zA list of Copy jobs currently being printed or waiting to print is displayed. 2Select “Close”.
39 Chapter 1 Basic Menu Features Deleting Copy Jobs The jobs in the Ready status can be deleted. 1Select “Copy” in the Output Queue screen. zTo display the Output Queue screen, refer to Checking the Waiting to Copy Job (see page 38). 2Select a job, and then select “Delete”. zWhen deleting all jobs, select “Select All”, and then select “Delete”. The screen to confirm the job deletion is displayed. 3Select “Yes”. The selected Copy job is deleted. 4Select “Close”. CopySelect when deleting a copy job. 40 Chapter 1 Basic Menu Features Completion Notice If the Completion Notice is set, you will be notified on your computer when copying is completed. zBefore using this function, install the Panasonic Document Management System and Printer Driver, and then configure each software. zTo register the IP Address of your computer, refer to Network Scanner Settings and Completion Notice Function in the Operating Instructions (For User Setup) of provided CD-ROM. 1Place original(s). zRefer to Placing Originals (see page 6). 2Press the Copy key if the machine is set to other function mode. 3Select the copy features if necessary. 4Select “Completion Notice”. 5Select an index tab or “Favorites” to display the registered computers. 6Select a designated computer, and then select “OK”. 7Enter the desired number of copies. 8Press the Start key. zWhen copying from the Platen Glass, place the next original, and follow the instructions described on the Touch Panel Display. zA completion notice will be sent to the specified computer when copying is completed. zAfter finishing copying, press the Reset key to return to the initial screen of the currently active mode.
