    Wi-Fi
    You can transfer images while charging the camera.
    Preparation:
    Configure [Smart Transfer] in advance. (P140)
    1Turn off the camera.2(When using a power outlet)
    Connect the AC adaptor (supplied) and this camera with the USB connection cable 
    (supplied), and insert the AC adaptor (supplied) into the power outlet.
    (When using a PC)
    Connect this unit to a PC by using the USB connection cable (supplied).
    •
    [Smart Transfer] starts automatically according to the [Charge Priority]  (P142) setting.•Depending on the specifications of the PC, [Smart Transfer] may fail.
    •If there are images that are not transferred when [Auto Transfer] is set to [OFF], the message that 
    confirms whether to transfer these images is displayed. Select a desired option.
    You can transfer images immediately.
    Preparation:
    Configure [Smart Transfer] in advance.  (P140)
    1Connect the AC adaptor (supplied) and this camera with the USB connection cable 
    (supplied), and insert the AC adaptor (supplied) into the power outlet.
    2Select [Wi-Fi Setup] in the [Wi-Fi] menu, and press [MENU/SET].  (P41)3Press 3/4  to select [Smart Transfer], and press [MENU/SET].
    4Press  3/4  to select [Transfer Now], and press [MENU/SET].
    •Confirmation screen is displayed. It is executed when [Yes] is selected.
    Exit the menu after it is executed.

    About Connections
    You can select a connection method after selecting a Wi-Fi function and a destination.
    Performing a direct connection is convenient for when you are in a place away from home 
    where wireless access points are not available  or for when connecting temporarily to a device 
    you do not usually use.
    When connecting with the same settings as the  previous ones, you can use the Wi-Fi function 
    quickly by connecting via [History Connection] or  [Favorite Connection].

    You can select the method for connecting to a wireless access point.¢WPS refers to a function that allows you to easily configure the settings 
    related to the connection and security of wireless LAN devices.
    To check if the wireless access point you are using is compatible with 
    WPS, refer to the manual of the wireless access point.
    Connecting from your house (via the network)

    Check the wireless access points instruction manu al and settings when saving a wireless access 
    point.
    •If no connection can be established, the wireless access point’s radio waves may be too weak.

    in.

    If a connection attempt fails, reconnect by using [New Connection].

    If [DISP.] is pressed when selecting an item in the history or favorites, the detail of the 
    connection can be displayed.

    To send images, select [New Connection] , and select the method for sending them.
    Even after completing the connection, you can still change the size of the images to be sent.

    ¢ Sending by [Send Images While Recording] is not available.
    •Some images may not be played back or sent depending on the device.•For information on the playback of images, check the operating instructions of the destination 
    device.

    A picture can be automatically sent to a specified device every time you take it.
    •Since the camera gives priority to recording,  sending may take longer during the recording.
    •When connected with [Send Images While Recording], [ ] is displayed 
    on the recording screen, and [ ] is displayed while sending a file.
    •If you turn off this unit or the Wi-Fi connection before sending is complete, 
    unsent pictures will not be resent.
    •You may not be able to delete files or use the playback menu while 
    sending.
    •Motion pictures cannot be sent.
    Images can be selected and sent after recording.
    •
    Details of the playback menu [Print Set] settings will not be sent.
    •Some images taken with a different camera may not be able to be sent.•Images that have been modified or edited with a computer may not be able to be sent.
    If you press [DISP.] after completing a connection,  you can change the size of the images to be 
    sent.
    •
    The size in which motion pictur es will be sent cannot be changed.
    Divide the motion picture using [Video Divide]  (P115).
