This unit is using the “VBR” recording method. “VBR” is an abbreviation of “Variable Bit Rate”, and the bit rate (volume of data for definite period of time) is changed automatically depending on the subject to record. Therefore, the recording time is shortened when a subject with fast movement is recorded. - 104 - Playback/Editing You can play back the pictures you have taken in synchronization with music, and you can do this in sequence while leaving a fixed interval between each of the pictures. You can also put together a slide show compos ed of only still pictures, only motion pictures, only 3D pictures etc. We recommend this feature when you view your pictures by connecting the camera to a TV. ∫ Operations performed during slide show The cursor displayed during playback is the same as 3/4/ 2/1. - 105 - Playback/Editing ∫To filter images for slide show playback You can filter images and play them back in a slide show by selecting [Filtering] on the slide show menu screen. • If you select [All], you can play back all images in a slide show. You can also filter images by using the same setting as [Filtering Play]. Refer to P106 –108 for the setting. •The filter settings are stored even after terminating slide show playback. To cancel filtering, refer to P106. ∫Changing the slide show settings By selecting [Setup] on the slide show menu screen, you can change the settings such as [Effect] and [Duration] for slide show playback. SettingsDescription of settings [Effect] This allows you to select the screen effects or music effects when switching from one picture to the next. [NATURAL], [SLOW], [SWING], [URBAN], [OFF] • When [URBAN] has been selected, the picture may appear in black and white as a screen effect. •Some [Effect] will not operate when playing back pictures displayed vertically. •Screen effects do not operate during a [3D Play] slide show.•When [Filtering] is set to [Motion Pic. Only], [Effect] is fixed to [OFF]. [Duration] [1SEC]/[2SEC]/[3SEC]/[5SEC] •When playing back the following pictures, the [Duration] setting is disabled. –Motion pictures –Panorama pictures [Repeat] [ON]/[OFF] [Sound] [OFF]: There will be no sound. [AUTO]: Music is played when the still pictures are played back, and audio is played when the motion pictures are played back. [Music]: Music is played back. [Audio]: Audio (only for motion pictures) is played back.

- 109 - Playback/Editing You can search for images by recorded date. • The recording date of the picture selected in the playback screen becomes the date selected when the calendar screen is first displayed. •If there are multiple pictures with the same recording date, the first picture recorded on that day is displayed. •You can display the calendar between January 2000 and December 2099.•If the date is not set in the camera, the recording date is set as January 1st, 2013. •If you take pictures after setting the travel destination in [World Time], the pictures are displayed by the dates at the travel destination in Calendar Playback. [Calendar] 1Press 3/ 4/2/1 to select the date you want to search. •If there were no pictures recorded during a month, that month is not displayed. 2Press [MENU/SET] to display the list of images. •Pictures are displayed with Multi Playback (30 screens). The cursor appears on the picture at the beginning of the selected date. 3Press 3/ 4/2/1 to select a picture and then press [MENU/SET]. •To continue the search, return to the previous screen by rotating the zoom lever towards [W]. - 110 - Playback/Editing Having Fun with Recorded Pictures (Retouch) You can adjust the color tone of the pictures taken, or add your preferred effects. •The processed pictures are newly generated, so be sure that you have enough space in the built-in memory or on the card. Note also that processing will not be possible if the Write-Protect switch of the card is in the [LOCK] position. •Effects may be difficult to see depending on the picture. •Pictures taken with other cameras may not be processed. The brightness and color of the pictures taken can be balanced. ¢ These pictures are examples to show the effect. 1Press 2/ 1 to select a picture, and then press 3 . •If you have filtered images for playback by using [Slide Show] (P104) or [Filtering Play] (P106) , the selection screen appears. You can proceed to step 2 by selecting [Retouch] with 3 /4 , and then pressing [MENU/SET]. •You can also proceed to step 2 by selecting [Retouch] from the [Playback] menu. 2Press 3/ 4 to select [Auto Retouch], and then press [MENU/SET]. 3Press 3/4 to select [ON], and then press [MENU/SET]. •If you select [OFF], an image with no effect is displayed. If you are not going to add an effect, exit the menu. •Confirmation screen is displayed. It is executed when [Yes] is selected. •Depending on the picture, noise may be emphasized by [Auto Retouch].•It may not be possible to perform [Auto Retouch] on pictures which have already been retouched.•The following pictures cannot be processed: –Motion pictures–Pictures taken in Panorama Shot Mode–Pictures taken with [Photo Frame] or [3D Photo Mode] in Scene Mode [Auto Retouch]
