Maintenance 5-2 Cleaning the Copier Clean the copier regularly to ensure optimum copy quality. Cleaning the Document Processor and Platen Open the document processor. Using a soft cloth dampened with alcohol or mild detergent, wipe the platen and the backside of the document processor. IMPORTANT: Do not use thinner or other organic solvents. Maintenance 5-4 Replacing Toner Container Promptly replace the toner container when the touch panel displays Add toner. Replace the toner container only if this messages appears. NOTE: Press [Adding toner] to display the replacement instructions on the touch panel. 1Open the front cover. 2Push the toner container release lever to the left and pull the used container out slightly. Caution Do not attempt to incinerate the toner container or the waste toner box. Dangerous sparks may cause burns....

Maintenance 5-5 3Let go of the toner container release lever and pull the used toner container until it can be removed. 4Holding the toner container handle, push the toner container release lever to the left again and gently remove the container. 5Place the used toner container in the plastic disposal bag provided. 6Remove the new toner container from the box. 7Set the toner container on a flat surface.
