Basic Copying Procedure
1Warm-up
Turn ON (|) the Power Switch. 
Start will light up after warm up 
has been completed.
2Setting the Original
Set the copy original on the glass 
platen. Align the original so that 
the left rear corner is flush against 
the original size indicator.
NOTE: Please refer to Setting Originals in the Document Processor on 
page 7-3 for the procedure used for placing the original when using the 
optional Document Processor.

5Image Quality Selection
The Image Quality can be selected to match the type of original to be 
copied. Press [Image Quality Selection] to light up the Image Quality 
Mode to be used.

NOTE: The maximum number of copies that can be made at one time

8Start Copying
Press [Start]. When the Start indicator lights green copying can be begun.
9Completion of the Copying

The finished copy will be ejected 
into the output tray.
IMPORTANT: Up to 250 standard paper copies (80 g/m2) can be stored.

Zoom Copying
Auto Zoom Ratio Selection Mode
Original images are reduced or 
enlarged according to the 
selected paper size.
IMPORTANT: When this is to be used as the default Mode, set the Auto 
Sizing on page 5-15 to on.
1Set the original.
The original’s size will be 
automatically detected.
2Press [100%/Auto%] to light up the Auto% indicator.
3Press [Paper Selection] and select the paper.
4Press [Start] to begin copying.

1Set the original.
2Press U, V or [%/OK].
The copy magnification will be displayed in the No. of Copies display and 
“%” will light up.
3Change the zoom percentage displayed using U or V.
The percentage can also be input using the numeric keys.
4Press [OK]. After the zoom percentage has been confirmed the display 
changes back to the No. of Copies display.
5Press [Start] to begin copying.

Interrupt Copying 
Interrupt Copying is useful when 
you want to make a copy of a 
different original at different 
settings during copying 
operations. After the Interrupt 
Copy has been produced, the 
copying operation resumes at the 
same settings in effect prior to the 
interruption.
1Press [Interrupt]. The Interrupt indicator 
will blink. It will stay lit when the Interrupt 
operation becomes possible.

Low Power Mode
Pressing [Energy Saver] will put the copier into a resting state even when 
the Power Switch is ON. The No. of Copies display on the Operation Panel 
will change to “- - -”, the Energy Saver indicator will light up and all other 
indicators and message display will be turned off.
Press any key on the Operation Panel or open and close the Original 
Cover in order to resume copying operations. In the case where the

Auto Sleep Mode
The Auto Sleep Function is a function that automatically turns the copier 
off after a set period of time (1 to 240 minutes) has passed. “-” is displayed 
in the No. of Copies display and all other indicators and message display 
will be turned off.
This has been set to 30 minutes at shipping.
NOTE: In the Sleep Mode state, the supply of electrical power to 
everything except the operating section is stopped. When the Power
