Ifthefileisfound: •TheputcommandtransfersthefiletoiLO2 •Theimagevalidates •Theflashprocessbegins Ifthefileisnotfound: •Someversionsoftheputcommanddonotdisplayanerrormessage NOTE:Ifthedirectorypathincludesspaces,enclosethepathandfilenameinquotes. Afterthefirmwareimagetransfers,therecoverypayloadcalculatesthechecksum,validatesthe digitalsignature,andreportsiftheimageisvalid.Theflashreprogrambeginsiftheimageisvalid, andtheflashprogressisreportedtotheclient. NOTE:Thisprocesstakesafewsecondswhiletherecoverypayloaddecryptsthestoredhash andcomputesahashfortheimagetocompareagainst.Iftheimageisvalid,theFTPserverbegins programmingtheimageintotheflashportion,andprovidesstatusupdates. Whencompleted,theflashrecoverypayloadmoduledisconnectsandrebootstheiLO2processor. Iftheflashrecoveryprocessisunsuccessful,starttheprocessagain,andwatchtheprogressfor anyerrors.Youmighthavetouseadifferentfirmwareimagefortheprocess. RecoveringfromabadiLO2flashimageusingtheHPSmartUpdateFirmwareDVD UsethefollowingproceduretorecoveriLO2fromabadflashupgradeusingthefirmwareDVD 9.00,andiLO21.81: 1.SettheiLO2SecurityOverrideSwitchonthesystemboardtoOn.Thelocationoftheswitch isprintedonalabellocatedontheinsideofthehoodcover. 2.PowertheserveronandbootusingtheSmartUpdateFirmwareDVDversion9.00.TheISO imageisavailablefordownloadfromthefollowingwebsiteathttp://www.hp.com/go/ foundation 3.Atthebootmenu,selectInteractiveFirmwareUpdateversion9.00. 4.AftertheSelectLanguagescreendisplays,enterthefollowingkeystrokestoexittheHPSmart UpdateManager: NOTE:AcommandpromptdisplaysontopoftheHPSmartUpdateManagerwindow(the commandprompttakesapproximately30secondstoappear). TheiLO2firmwaredoesnotrespondtoSSLrequests TheiLO2firmwaredoesnotrespondtoSSLrequestswhenaJavawarningappears.Ifauseris loggingintoaniLO2browserconnectionanddoesnotcompletetheloginprocessbyresponding totheJavacertificatewarning,iLO2doesnotrespondtofuturebrowserrequests.Theusermust continuetheloginprocesstofreetheiLO2Webserver. TestingSSL Thefollowingtestchecksforthecorrectsecuritydialogprompt.Anon-workingserverwillproceed toaPage cannot be displayedmessage.Ifthistestfails,yourdomaincontrollerisnot acceptingSSLconnections,andprobablyhasnotbeenissuedacertificate. 1.OpenabrowserandnavigatetoCertificatesfolder.Right-clickthefolderandselectRequestNewCertificate. c.VerifyTypeisdomaincontrollerandclickNextuntilacertificateisused.
