and ‘‘km/h.’’
The odometer/tripmeter displays both
‘‘mile’’ and ‘‘km.’’
To select ‘‘mph’’/‘‘mile’’ and
‘‘km/h’’/‘‘km’’, push and hold the mode
switch ( ) f or more than 2 seconds with
the display in the odometer mode.1

Turn the ignition switch ON. Shows hour and minute. To adjust the time,
proceed as follows:
To select the digital clock mode ( ).
Push and hold both the mode switch ( )
and reset switch ( ) for more than 2
seconds. The clock will be set in the
adjust mode with the hour display

until the desired minute is displayed.
The minute display will return to ‘‘00’’
when ‘‘60’’ is reached without
af f ecting the hour display.To end the adjustment, push the mode
switch or turn the ignition switch OFF.
The display will stop f lashing
automatically and the adjustment will
be cancelled if the switch is not pressed

The ignition switch is used f or starting and
stopping the engine (page ). The
ignition key is also used to lock the
steering f or thef t prevention (page ).
Insert the key and turn it to the right f or
the ON position.
If a key ring is used, we recommend a
f abric or leather type with just the key
attached. The use of a metal key ring or
the attachment of additional keys to any
type of key ring may damage the f inish of
the side cover and engine cover while
inserting the key or riding. 55

Starting Procedure,
When the start button is pushed, the starter
motor will crank the engine; the headlight
will automatically go out, but the taillight
will stay on.
The starter motor will not operate if the
engine stop switch is in the OFF position
when the start button is pushed.The engine stop switch ( ) is used to stop
the engine in an emergency. To operate,
push the switch to the OFF position. The
switch must be in the RUN position to
start the engine, and it should normally
remain in the RUN position even when the
engine is OFF. The start button ( ) is used f or starting the
engine. Pushing the button in starts the
engine. See page .1

If your motorcycle is stopped with the
ignition switch ON and the engine stop
switch OFF, the headlight and taillight
will remain on, resulting in battery
discharge.Theturnsignalswitch( )isusedtosignal
a turn or a lane change. To operate, move
the switch all the way in the proper
direction and release it. The appropriate
turn signal lights will start blinking. To
cancel the light, push the switch in. The headlight dimmer switch ( ) is used
to change between the high and low beams
of the headlight. To operate, turn the
switch to HI f or high beam, LO f or low
beam.12
