This indicator has two f unctions: Itcomesonwhenyouturnthe ignition switch to the ON (II) position. It is a reminder to check the parking brake. A beeper sounds if you drive with the parking brake not f ully released. Driving with the parking brake not fully released can damage the brakes and tires. If it stays on after you have fully released the parking brake while the engine is running, or if it comes on while driving, there could be a problem with the brake system. For more inf ormation, see page . The instrument panel has many indicators to give you important inf ormation about your vehicle. If your f ront passenger does not f asten their seat belt, the indicator comes on about 6 seconds af ter the ignition switch is turned to the ON (II) position. This indicator reminds you and your passengers to f asten your seat belts. If either of you do not f asten your seat belt while driving, the beeper will sound and the indicator will f lash again at regular intervals. For more inf ormation, see page . If you turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position bef ore f astening your seat belt, the beeper sounds, and the indicator f lashes. This indicator normally comes on f or a f ew seconds when you turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position. If it comes on at any other time, there is a problem with the ABS. If this happens, have your vehicle checked at a dealer. With this indicator on, your vehicle still has normal braking ability but no anti-lock f unction. For more inf ormation, see page . This indicator comes on f or several seconds when you turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position. If it comes on at any other time, it indicates a potential problem with your f ront airbags. This indicator will also alert you to a potential problem with your side airbags, passenger’s side airbag automatic cutoff system, side curtain airbags, automatic seat belt tensioners, driver’s seat position sensor, or the f ront passenger’s weight sensors. For more inf ormation, see page .This indicator comes on f or several seconds when you turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position. If it comes on at any other time, it indicates that the passenger’s side airbag has automatically shut off. For more inf ormation, see page .This indicator comes on brief ly when you turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position. It will then go of f if you have inserted a properly coded ignition key. When you press the hazard warning button, both turn signal indicators and all turn signals on the outside of the vehicle f lash.If this indicator comes on when the ignition switch is turned to the ON (II) position and the parking brake is released, it means there is a problem with a circuit. Have your vehicle checked by your dealer. This indicator comes on with the high beam headlights. For more inf ormation, see page .This indicator reminds you that the exterior lights are on. It comes on when the light switch is in either the or position. If you turn the ignition switch to the ACCESSORY (I) or the LOCK (0) position without turning of f the light switch, this indicator will remain on. A reminder chime will also sound when you open the driver’s door and remove the key from the ignition switch. The lef t or right turn signal indicator blinks when you signal a lane change or turn. If an indicator does not blink or blinks rapidly, it usually means one of the turn signal bulbs is burned out (see pages and ). Replace the bulb as soon as possible, since other drivers cannot see that you are signaling. This indicator comes on if the trunk lid is not closed tightly. This indicator comes on if any door is not closed tightly. This indicator also comes on with reduced brightness when the daytime running lights (DRL) are on (see page ). This indicator comes on when you turn on the f og lights. If equipped If equipped This indicator normally comes on f or a f ew seconds when you turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position. If itcomesonandstaysonatany other time, or if it does not come on when you turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position, there is a problem with the VSA system. Take your vehicle to a dealer to have it checked. Without VSA, your vehicle still has normal driving ability, but will not have VSA traction and stability enhancement. See page f or more inf ormation on the VSA system.This indicator has three f unctions: Itcomesonasareminderthatyou have turned off the vehicle stability assist (VSA) system. It flashes when VSA is active (see page ). It comes on along with the VSA system indicator if there is a problem with the VSA system. This indicator normally comes on f or a f ew seconds when you turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position. See page f or more inf ormation on the VSA system.This indicator normally comes on when you turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position and goes of f af ter the engine starts. If it comes on at any other time, there is a problem in the electric power steering system. If this happens, stop the vehicle in a safe place, and turn off the engine. Reset the system by restarting the engine. The indicator will not turn of f immediately. If it does not go of f after driving a short distance, or comes back on again while driving, take the vehicle to your dealer to have it checked. If you turn the steering wheel to the f ull lef t or right position repeatedly while stopping or driving at very low speed, you may f eel slightly harder steering due to overheating of the steering gearbox.This indicator normally comes on f or a f ew seconds when you turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position. If this indicator comes on and stays on at any other time, or if it does not come on when you turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position, there is a problem with the TPMS. With this indicator on, the low tire pressure indicator will not come on when a tire loses pressure. Take the vehicle to your dealer to have the system checked. This indicator normally comes on f or a f ew seconds when you turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position. If it comes on while driving, it indicates that one or more of your vehicle’s tires are signif icantly low on pressure. If this happens, pull to the side of the road when it is saf e, check which tire has lost the pressure, and determine the cause. If it is because of a flat tire, replace the flat tire with the compact spare (see page ), and have the f lat tire repaired as soon as possible. If two or more tires are underinf lated, call a prof essional towing service (see page ). If equipped If equipped Canadian models only Si model only This indicator comes on when you turn on the cruise control system by pressing the CRUISE button (see page ). This indicator comes on when you set the cruise control. See page f or inf ormation on operating the cruise control. This indicator comes on when the washer f luid level is low. Add washer f luid when you see this indicator come on (see page ). To protect the engine f rom damage, never drive with the tachometer in its red zone. This indicator shows you when the engine speed is near the tachometer’s red zone. When the engine speed gets to near the red zone, the indicator blinks. If you exceed the maximum speed f or the gear you are in, the indicator stays on, and you may f eel the engine cut in and out due to the engine speed limiter (see page ).This indicator is in the f uel gauge. It comes on as a reminder that you must ref uel soon. When the needle reaches E, there is a very small amount of f uel in the tank.
