you start driving. Make sure to pull the lever upward
or downward to its f ull range. The height of your driver’s seat is
adjustable. To raise the seat,
repeatedly pull up the lever on the
outside of the seat cushion. To lower
the seat, push the lever down

The head restraints adjust f or height.
You need both hands to adjust the
restraint. Do not attempt to adjust it
while driving. To raise it, pull upward.
To lower the restraint, push the
release button sideways, and push
the restraint down.To remove a head restraint f or
f olding down the rear seat, cleaning
or repair, pull it up as f ar as it will go.

restraint out of the seat-back.When reinstalling a head restraint,

The driver’s and f ront passenger’s
seats have active head restraints. If
the vehicle is struck severely f rom
the rear, the occupant properly
secured with the seat belt will be
pushed against the seat-back and the
head restraint will automatically
move forward.
This reduces the distance between
the restraint and the occupant’s head.It also helps protect the occupants
against whiplash and injuries to the
neck and upper spine.

The lef t and right rear seat-backs
canbefoldeddownseparatelyto
make more luggage space.
You can also lift up each of the rear
seat cushions separately to make
room f or luggage (see page ).
With only half the seat-back folded
or the seat cushion f olded up, you
can carry only one passenger in the
rear outer seating position. You

Push the armrest back in place.
Make sure the seat cushion is locked
securely and the seat leg is
positioned properly. To return the seat-cushion to its
original position, pull up the seat leg
fully,thenpushdowntheseat
cushion slowly while holding it by

Both f ront seats are equipped with
seat heaters. The ignition switch
must be in the ON (II) position to
use the heaters.Push the front of the switch, HI, to
rapidly heat up the seat. Af ter the
seat reaches a comfortable
temperature, select LO by pushing
the back of the switch. This will keep
the seat warm.
In the HI setting, the heater turns off
when the seat gets warm, and turns
back on after the seat’s temperature
drops.Follow these precautions whenever
you use the seat heaters:

The luggage area cover can be
removed to give you more luggage
height.To remove the cover, take off the
hooks f rom the tailgate, slide the
cover towards the rear, then lif t it
straight up.To install the cover, set the mount-
ing rods to the recesses and slide the
cover towards the f ront until it clips
into place. Make sure it is securely
latched so it will not come loose
while you are driving.
Lower the tailgate and put the hooks
back in place.

window. To open a window, push the
switch down lightly and hold it.
Release the switch when you want
the window to stop. Pull back on the
switchandholdittoclosethe

The windows will operate f or up to

types) after you turn off the ignition
