Replacing Ink Cartridges71 Removing and Installing Ink Cartridges Follow these steps to replace one or more ink cartridges that are outdated, low on ink, or empty. 1. Open the cartridge covers. 2. Remove the cartridge you need to replace. (Press in to release it, then pull it out of its slot.) Dispose of the cartridge carefully. 3. Unwrap the new cartridge. 4. Insert the cartridge so it clicks into place. If you need to replace any other cartridges, repeat steps 2 through 4 before continuing.

72Maintaining Your RX700 5. Close the cartridge covers. The RX700 begins charging the ink delivery system, and you hear noise during charging. Caution: Never turn off the RX700 during ink charging. This may cause incomplete charging of ink. Checking and Cleaning and Print Head If your printouts are unexpectedly light, colors are missing, or you see light or dark lines across the page, you may need to clean the print head. 74Maintaining Your RX700 Aligning the Print Head If your printouts have vertical lines that appear jagged, you may need to align the print head. Note: You can also run a print head alignment using the printer software. Click the? or Help button on your printer settings window for instructions on running a print head alignment. 1. 80Solving Problems Paper Feed Problems If paper jams frequently, make sure the left edge guide isn’t pushed too tightly against the paper. Also, try loading fewer sheets of paper. The stack should never be above the arrow on the inside of the left edge guide. Some paper types require that you load sheets individually or use a support sheet; follow the instructions that came with your paper for specific instructions.
