    Auto Nozzle Check and Cleaning
Auto Nozzle Check and Cleaning prints a nozzle check
pattern which is read by a sensor to automatically check
for clogged nozzles. Head cleaning will then be
performed if clogged nozzles are detected.
This operation is performed from the computer.
Explanations in this section use the Windows printer
    driver as an example.

    Ink Density Optimization
Eliminates inconsistencies in ink density within the
cartridges for consistent color reproduction. The print
head is moved left and right to uniform the ink density.
At default settings, this operation is performed
automatically at certain periods (Auto Ink Density
Optimization). We normally recommend that this
    setting not be changed.
Consult the following when changing Auto Ink Density
    Optimization settings.

    Correcting Print Misalignment
    (Print Head Alignment)
Because there is a small distance between the print head
and paper, misalignment ma y occur due to humidity or
temperature, the inertial force of the print head's
movements, or by moving the print head
bidirectionally. As a result, print results may appear
grainy or out of focus. When this happens, perform
Print Head Alignment to correct the print
    misalignment.

    Replacing Ink Cartridges
    Ink Cartridge Product Numbers
The following ink cartridges can be used with this
    printer.
    Ink colorProduct number
    Yellow (Y) T1594
    Magenta (M) T1593
    Matte Black (MK) T1598
    Red (R) T1597
    Orange (OR) T1599
    Photo Black (PK) T1591
    Gloss Optimizer (GO) T1590
    Cyan (C) T1592
    How to replace
If one of the installed ink cartridges is expended,
printing cannot be performed. If an ink low warning is
displayed, we recommend replacing the ink cartridge(s)
    as soon as possible.
If an ink cartridge runs out while printing, you can
continue printing after replacing the ink cartridge.
However, when replacing ink during a print job, you
may see a difference in color depending on the drying
    conditions.
    Note:
Epson recommends the use of genuine Epson ink
cartridges. Epson cannot guarantee the quality or
reliability of non-genuine ink. The use of non-genuine
ink may cause damage that is not covered by Epson’s
warranties, and under certain circumstances may cause
    erratic printer behavior.
Information about non-genuine ink levels may not be
displayed, and use of non-genuine ink is recorded for
    possible use in service support.
The following procedure uses Yellow ink as an example.
You can use the same proc edure to replace all ink
    cartridges.

If a cleaning sheet is provided with the Epson special
media, you can pass (feed and eject) it through the
printer to clean the rollers when plain paper fails to
    produce the desired results.
See the manual supplied with the paper for more
    information.
