Creating a Watermark
1When you change the print settings from your software application, access the printer 
properties.
2Click the Advanced tab and click Edit... in the Wa t e r m a r k section. The Edit Watermarks 
window appears.
3Enter the text message you want to print in the Watermark Message box. 
The message displays in the preview image window. The preview image is provided so 
that you can see how the watermark will appear on the printed page.

Using Overlays
What is an Overlay?
An overlay is text and/or images stored in the computer hard disk drive (HDD) as a special file 
format that can be printed on any document. Overlays are often used to take the place of 
preprinted forms and letterhead paper. Rather than using preprinted letterhead, you can create 
an overlay containing the exact same information that is currently on your letterhead. To print 
a letter with your company’s letterhead, you do not need to load preprinted letterhead...

4In the Edit Overlays window, click Create.
5In the Save As window, type a name of up to eight characters in the File nam e box. Select 
the destination path, if necessary. (The default is 
C:\FormOver).
6Click Save. You can see the name in the Overlay List. 
7Click OK or Ye s until you complete creating. 
The file is not printed out; it is stored in your computer. 
Using a Page Overlay

4Select the desired overlay from the Te x t drop-down list box. 
5If the overlay file you want does not appear in the Te x t drop-down list, select Edit... from 
the list and click 
Load. Select the overlay file you want to use. If you have stored the 
overlay file you want to use in an external source, you can also load the file when you 
access the Load window.
After you select the file, click 
Open. The file is now shown in the Overlay List box and is

Deleting a Page Overlay
You can delete page overlays that are no longer used. 
1In the printer properties window, click the Advanced tab. 
2Click Edit... in the Overlay section. 
3Select the overlay you want to delete from the Overlay List box. 
4Click Delete. 
5When a confirming message window appears, click Ye s.
6Click OK until you exit the Print window.

Loading Paper for Copying
The instructions for loading print materials are the same whether you are printing, faxing, or
