feature. UPNP provides compatibi\fity with various networkin\b 
equipment, software, and periphera\fs.
Se\fect the box to a\f\fow the WAN port to be “pin\bed.” B\fockin\b 
WAN pin\bs may provide some extra security from hackers. 
 
Advanced Network
Advanced Network contains settin\bs which can chan\be the way the router hand\fes certain types of traffic. We recommend that you do not chan\be 
any of these settin\bs un\fess you are a\fready fami\fiar with them or have been instructed to make the chan\be by one of our support personne\f. After 
modifyin\b any settin\bs, c\fick Save Sett\fngs to save your chan\bes.Enable UPnP:

ADMINISTRATOR
Enter and confirm the password that the admin account wi\f\f 
use to access the router’s mana\bement interface.
REMOTE MANAGEMENT
Tick this check box to enab\fe remote mana\bement. Remote 
mana\bement a\f\fows the DWR-921 to be confi\bured over the 
Internet throu\bh a web browser. A username and password 
wi\f\f sti\f\f be required to access the Web-Mana\bement interface. 
Enter the Internet IP address of the PC that has access to the 
Broadband Router. If you enter an asterisk (*) in this fie\fd\u, 
then anyone wi\f\f be ab\fe to access the Router. Addin\b an 
asterisk (*) into this fie\fd cou\fd present a security risk and is not 
recommended.
This is the port number used to access the router. 8080 is the 
port usua\f\fy used for the Web-Mana\bement interface. 
Adm\fn
The Adm\fn pa\be a\f\fows you to chan\be the Administrator password and enab\fe Remote Mana\bement.  The admin has read/write access whi\fe users 
on\fy have read-on\fy access. On\fy the admin has the abi\fity to chan\be both admin and user account passwords. After modifyin\b any settin\bs, c\fick 
Save Sett\fngs to save your chan\bes.

TIME AND DATE CONFIGURATION
Se\fect the appropriate T\fme Zone from the drop-down box.
Tick this checkbox to a\f\fow for day\fi\bht savin\b adjustments. 
Use the dropdown boxes to specify a start date and end date 
for day\fi\bht savin\b time adjustments.
AUTOMATIC TIME AND DATE CONFIGURATION
Tick the Automat\fcally synchron\fze w\fth Internet t\fme server 
checkbox to a\f\fow the router to use an NTP server to update 
the router’s interna\f c\fock.
Enter an NTP server to use for time synchronization, or use the 
dropdown box to se\fect one. C\fick the Update Now button to 
synchronize the time with the NTP\u server.
This section wi\f\f he\fp you set the time zone that you are in and an NTP (Network Time Protoco\f) server to use. Day\fi\bht Savin\b can a\fso be confi\bured 
to adjust the time when\u needed. After modifyin\b any settin\bs, c\fick Save Sett\fngs to save your chan\bes.

Syslog
Tick this checkbox to send the router \fo\bs to a sys\fo\b server.
Enter the IP address of the sys\fo\b server that the router wi\f\f 
send the \fo\bs to.
The DWR-921 keeps a runnin\b \fo\b of events and activities occurrin\b on the router. You may send these \fo\bs to a sys\fo\b server on your network. 
After modifyin\b any settin\bs, c\fick Save Sett\fngs to save your chan\bes.

When this option is e\unab\fed, router activity \fo\bs wi\f\f be 
e-mai\fed to the specified e-mai\f address.
Enter the SMTP server IP address the router wi\f\f use to send 
e-mai\fs. Enter the comp\fete IP address fo\f\fowed by a co\fon(:) 
and the port number. (e.\b. 123.123.123.1:25\u).
Enter the username for the SMTP account.
Enter the password for the SMTP account.
Enter the e-mai\f address where you wou\fd \fike the router to 
send e-mai\fs to.
Enter a subject for the e-mai\f.
C\fick this button to send the current \fo\bs to the specified 
e-mai\f address.

Use this option to save your current router confi\buration 
settin\bs to a fi\fe. C\fick Save to open a fi\fe dia\fo\b, and then 
se\fect a \focation and fi\fe name f\uor the settin\bs. 
Use this option to \foad previous\fy saved router confi\buration 
settin\bs.  C\fick Browse... and se\fect the saved fi\fe and then 
c\fick the Upload Sett\fngs button to up\foad the settin\bs \uto the 
router. 
This option wi\f\f restore a\f\f settin\bs back t\uo their defau\fts. Any 
settin\bs that have not been backed u\up wi\f\f be \fost, inc\fudin\b 
any ru\fes that you have created.

F\frmware
Disp\fays your current firmware’s version.
Disp\fays your current firmware’s re\fease date.
After you have down\foaded a new firmware, c\fick Browse to 
\focate the firmware on your computer, then c\fick Upload to 
start the firmware up\brade.
Warn\fng:  You  must  use  a  wired  computer  to  up\foad  the 
firmware fi\fe; do not use a wire\fess computer. Durin\b 
the up\brade process, do not power off your computer 
or  router,  and  do  not  refresh  the  browser  window 
unti\f the up\brade is comp\fete.
If the firmware you want to insta\f\f is not an \uofficia\f D-Link 
re\fease, you wi\f\f need to check this checkbox.
Warn\fng:  Unofficia\f  firmwares  are  not  supported,  and  may 
cause  dama\be  to  your  device.  Use  of  unofficia\f 
firmwares is at your own risk.

Tick this checkbox to enab\fe the DDNS feature.
Se\fect a DDNS service provider to use.
Enter the Host Name that you re\bistered with your DDNS 
service provider.
Enter the Username for your DDNS account.
Enter the Password for your DDNS account.
The  DDNS  feature  a\f\fows  you  to  host  a  ser ver  ( Web,  FTP,  or  Game  Ser ver)  usin\b  a  domain  name  that  you  have  purchased  (such  as

Enter a host name or th\ue IP address that you want to pin\b and 
c\fick the P\fng button. The resu\fts of the pin\b attempt wi\f\f be 
disp\fayed in the PING RESULT section be\fow.
This usefu\f dia\bnostic uti\fity can be used to check if a computer is connected to the network. It sends pin\b packets and \fistens for responses from 
the specific host. After modifyin\b any settin\bs, c\fick Save Sett\fngs to save your chan\bes.
