MOUNTINGANDWIRINGTHESAFETYSENSORS •Slidea1/4-20xl/2carriageboltheadintotheslot oneachsensor.Usewingnutstofastensensorsto brackets,withlensespointingtowardeachother acrossthedoor.Besurethelensisnotobstructed byabracketextension(Figure6). •Fingertightenthewingnuts. •Runthewiresfrombothsensorstotheopener.Use insulatedstaplestosecurewiretowallandceiling. •Strip1/4(6mm)ofinsulationfromeachsetof wires.Separatewhiteandwhite/blackwires sufficientlytoconnecttotheterminalscrews:white to2andwhite/blackto3(Figure7). ALIGNINGTHESAFETYSENSORS •Plugintheopener.Theindicatorlightsinboththe sendingandreceivingeyeswillglowsteadilyif wiringconnectionsandalignmentarecorrect. Thesendingeyegreenindicatorlightwillglow regardlessofalignmentorobstruction.Ifthegreen indicatorlightinthereceivingeyeisoff,dim,or flickering(andtheinvisiblelightbeampathisnot obstructed),alignmentisrequired. •Loosenthesendingeyewingnutandreadjust, aimingdirectlyatthereceivingeye.Lockinplace. •Loosenthereceivingeyewingnutandadjust sensoruntilitreceivesthesendersbeam.When thegreenindicatorlightglowssteadily,tightenthe wingnut. NOTE:Manyverticalbraceinstallationsprovidefor directattachmentoftheclevispinanddoorarm.In thiscaseyouwillnotneedthedoorbracket;proceed toInstallationStep12. Ifyourdoorpassesbothofthesetests,nolimit adjustmentsarenecessaryunlessthereversingtest fails(AdjustmentStep3,page29). NOTE:Onasectionaldoor,makesurelimit adjustmentsdonotforcethedoorarmbeyonda straightupanddownposition,Seetheillustration onpage25, •Repeatthetest. •Whenthedoorreversesonthe1-1/2(3.8cm) board,removetheobstructionandruntheopener through3or4completetravelcyclestotest adjustment. NEVERpermitchildrentooperateorplaywithgarage doorcontrolpushbuttonsorremotecontrols. 3.ONLYactivategaragedoorwhenitcanbeseenclearly,it isproperlyadjusted,andtherearenoobstructionsto doortravel. 4.ALWAYSkeepgaragedoorinsightuntilcompletely closed.NOONESHOULDCROSSTHEPATHOFTHE MOVINGDOOR. 5.NOONESHOULDGOUNDERASTOPPED,PARTIALLY OPENDOOR. 6.Ifpossible,useemergencyreleasehandletodisengage trolleyONLYwhengaragedoorisCLOSED.Weakor brokenspringsorunbalanceddoorcouldresultinan opendoorfailingrapidlyand/orunexpectedly. 7.NEVERuseemergencyreleasehandleunlessgarage doorwayisclearofpersonsandobstructions. 8.NEVERusehandletopullgaragedooropenorclosed.If ropeknotbecomesuntied,youcouldfall. 9.Ifonecontrol(forceortravellimits)isadjusted,the othercontrolmayalsoneedadjustment. 10.AfterANYadjustmentsaremade,thesafetyreversal systemMUSTbetested. 11.SafetyreversalsystemMUSTbetestedeverymonth.
