Using Your Speakerphone A speakerphone gives you the freedom to use your telephone without lifting the handset. After initial contact is made, you can carry on a telephone conversation and still be free to do other things. Whenever the instructions “Lift the handset to talk” appear in this guide, they may be ignored if you have a speakerphone.
