WithhammerfullycockedandSlideLockSafetyapplied,upperpartofSlide LockSafetyengagesslidelocknotchtopreventrearwardmovementofslide, whileaninternalcamsurfaceengagestheseartopreventforwardhammer movementwhentriggerissqueezed.Thissafetydevicecanbeappliedonly whentheslideisfullyforwardandhammerisfullycocked. SafetyStoponHammer TheSafetyStopisaflat,shelf-likesurfaceonthehammerwhichfunctionsas anautomaticsafetydevice.Itwillengagethesearintheunlikelyeventof primarysearnotchfailure.Thiswillpreventthehammerfromfallingfully forwardunintentionallyandwillinsureagainstuncontrolledautomaticfire.It alsopreventsthehammerfromstrikingthefiringpinshouldyourhandslipfrom theslideorhammerwhilecockingthepistol,providedthehammerisrotated pasttheSafetyStop.ItislocatedsuchthatwhenthesearengagestheSafety Stop,thesearcanbedisengagedbysqueezingthetriggertoallowthehammer tofallforward.Thehammerwillfallwhenyousqueezethetrigger.Itfalls becausethesearslidesovertheflatpartofthesafetystoptoreleasethe hammer.Thisisintentionalbutwillnotallowthepistoltofire.Itwillnotfire becausethehammerisalreadyalmostfullyforwardwhenitisreleasedfrom thesear.TheSafetyStopisnotamanualsafetyandshouldnotbeengaged A byhand. iliCAUTION:CONTROLHAMMERWITHYOURTHUMBANDALWAYSPOINT PISTOLINASAFEDIRECTIONWHENSQUEEZINGTHETRIGGERTOLOWER THEHAMMER.Thiswillavoidaccidentalinjuryintheunlikelyeventofpistol discharge,butloweringthehammerinthiswayshouldbedoneonlywhen thechamberisempty. Disconnector Thissafetydevicepreventsaroundbeingfiredbeforeitisinthechamberwith slideandbarrellocked.WhenslideisnotfullyforwardtheDisconnectoris depressed;itslowerpartdisengagesthesear,sothatthehammercannotbe releasedifthetriggerissqueezed.However,whenslideandbarrelarelocked, aspringpushestheDisconnectorupintoarecessintheslide;thislinkstrigger * andsearsothatthepistolcanbefiredbysqueezingthetrigger. LUCAUTION:NEVERATTEMPTTOCHECKORDEMONSTRATETHE DISCONNECTORFUNCTIONWITHALOADEDPISTOL.Pushingonthe muzzlewithyourhandoranyotherportionofthebodyisextremelydanger- ousandcouldresultinaccidentaldischargecausinginjury,death,ordamage toproperty.
