    NOTES
The Earth Compass cannot be used while the handset is being
    charged.
When using the electronic compass, orient the handset so its
keypad is horizontal. The compass becomes less accurate when
    the keypad is tilted.
Any of the following actions can create accuracy issues with the
electronic compass. If any of these occur, recalibrate the handset
    as soon as possible.
Opening and closing the flip immediately after starting up the
    electronic compass.
Using the handset near a strong magnet.
Leaving the handset for a long time in an area with extreme
    temperature change.
Allowing the handset to become magnetized.
Calibrate the electronic compass with the handset open before
using it with the handset open.
To calibrate the electronic compass with the flip
open, hold the handset as shown in the figure to the

    SETTINGS & TOOLS
To calibrate the electronic compass, wave the handset in the
shape of a large figure eight, making sure that each of six sides of
the handset faces down toward the ground by rolling your wrists
as illustrated in the figure below for about 15 seconds.
Calibrate the electronic compass with the handset closed before
using it with the handset closed.
To calibrate the electronic compass with the flip
closed, hold the handset as shown in the figure to
    the right.
The electronic compass uses the Earth’s magnetic field to
determine direction. The direction readings produced by the
electronic compass can be different from actual compass
readings due to environment and temperature.
Direction readings taken in any of the following locations may
    result in very inaccurate readings.
Near buildings (especially ferro-concrete structures), large
metal objects (trains, motor vehicles, etc.), high-voltage power
    lines, or overhead wires •

    locations and try again. -

You do not need to activate G’zGEAR
    ® to count your steps.
Your steps are counted every day from midnight for 24 hours.
The pedometer detects the small vibrations generated when you
are walking or jogging and counts them as steps. The error of the
count increases if your steps cannot be detected normally or if
vibration other than from walking or jogging is detected.
The steps counted by the pedometer may differ from the actual
number of your steps. Use the counted result only as a guide.

Expose the handset to open air and wait until it reaches the
same temperature as the environment, which may take about 30
    minutes.
The temperature sensor is influenced by factors such as your
body temperature, heat of the handset itself, direct sunlight, and
moisture. Use it under conditions that are not influenced by heat
    other than air temperature.
The measurable temperature range is from −30 to 60°C (−22 to
    14 0 ° F ).
The handset may get warm after it is charged or used for voice
