111 Image Playback You can magnify the image by 1.5x to 10x on the LCD monitor. 1Display the image. Display the image in the single-image or image info. display mode. 2Magnify the image. Press the < u> button. X First, the center of the image will be magnified. To increase the magnification, hold down the < u> button. Press the < I> button to reduce the magnification. Hold down the button to continue reducing the magnification until it reaches the size in step 1. 3Scroll around the image. Use < 9> to scroll around the image in any direction. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to magnify other areas of the image. To exit the magnified display, press the < x> button. u/y Magnified View Magnified area During the magnified view, you can turn the < 6> or < 5> dial to view the next or previous image at the sa me magnification and scroll position. With C.Fn-18-1 set, y ou can hold down the < l> button and press the < u > or < I > button to magnify or reduce the image.
Image Playback 112 You can playback the CF card’s images in an automatic slide show. Each image will be displayed for about 3 sec. 1Select [Auto play]. Turn the < 5> dial to select [ x Auto play ], then press < 0>. X The auto play screen will appear. 2Start the auto play. XAfter [ Loading image... ] is displayed for a few seconds, auto play will start. To pause the auto play, press < 0>. During pause, [ ] will be displayed on the upper left of the image. Press again to resume the auto play. 3Stop the auto play. To stop the auto play and return to the menu, press the < M> button. 3 Automated Playback of Images (Auto playback) During auto play, auto power off will not work. The display time may vary depending on the image. During auto play, you can press the < B> button to change the display format. During pause, you can turn the < 5> dial to view another image.
113 Image Playback You can rotate an image by 90° or 270° clockwise. Images will then be displayed in the correct orientation during playback. 1Select [Rotate]. Turn the < 5> dial to select [ x Rotate ], then press < 0>. X The Rotate screen will appear. 2Rotate the image. Turn the < 5> dial to select the image to be rotated, then press < 0 >. X Each time you press < 0>, the image will rotate clockwise. To rotate another image, repeat step 2. To stop rotating the image, press the button. The menu will reappear. 3 Rotating an Image Ð If you have set [ c Auto rotate ] to [On] (p.105) before taking the vertical shots, you need not rotate th e image as described above. You can rotate the image even afte r you change the display format to shooting info display, magnified vi ew, or index display after step 1.
114 During the single image, image with shooting information, index, or magnified image display, you can jump forward or back to images stored on the CF card. 1Playback the image. 2Go to the jump display. Press the < C> button. X The jump bar will appear at the bottom of the screen. 3Jump forward or back. Turn the < 5> dial. To quit the image jump, press the button. The jump bar will disappear. Turn the < 5> dial to view the next or previous image. During the single image and informat ion display, you can use the Jump feature (by 10 or 100 images, date, or folder). At step 2 above, press the < C> button, then press < 0> and turn the < 5 > dial. X The Jump method indicated on the Jump bar will change (p.115). Press < 0> to confirm the Jump method. Turn the < 5> dial to jump according to the selected jump method. C Jump Display Jump bar Single Image and Information Display
115 CJump Display Jumping during the single image or image with shooting information display Jump 10 images / Jump 100 images Turn the < 5> dial clockwise to jump forward by 10 or 100 images. Or turn it counterclockwise to jump backward by 10 or 100 images. Jump shot date You can jump to a picture taken on a specific date. (If there are multiple pictures taken on the same date, the display will jump to the first picture taken on that date.) Turn the < 5> dial to jump to the previous or next date. Jump folder Jump by folder. Turn the < 5> dial to jump to the previous or next folder. The folder’s first image will be displayed. Jumping in the magnified view Turn the < 5> dial counterclockwise to jump ten images backward, or turn it clockwise to jump ten images forward. The magnified position and magnification will be maintained during the image jump. Jumping in the index display mode Turn the < 5> dial counterclockwise to jump to the previous 9th image or turn it clockwise to jump to the next 9th image. Image jump is also possible during [ Protect], [Rotate ] and [Custom WB ].
116 By connecting the camera to a TV set with the video cable (provided), you can view the captured images on a TV set. Always turn off the camera and the television before connecting or disconnecting them. 1Connect the camera to the TV. Open the camera’s terminal cover. Use the video cable (provided) to connect the camera’s < q> terminal to the TV monitor’s VIDEO IN terminal. Insert the cable plug all the way in. 2Turn on the TV and switch the TV’s line input to Video IN. 3Set the < 4> switch to < 1> or < J >. 4Press the < x> button. XThe image will appear on the TV screen. (Nothing will be displayed on the camera’s LCD monitor.) After you finish, set the < 4> switch to < 2 >, turn the TV off, then disconnect the video cable. Viewing the Images on a TV Video IN terminal If the proper video system format is not set, the image will not be displayed properly. Se t the proper video system format with [ c Video system ]. Depending on the TV mo nitor, the four corners might look dark.
117 This prevents the image from being erased accidentally. 1Select [Protect]. Turn the < 5> dial to select [ x Protect ], then press < 0>. X The protect setting screen will appear. 2Protect the image. Turn the < 5> dial to select the image to be protected, then press < 0 >. X When an image is protected, the icon will appear below the image. To cancel the image protection, press again. The < K> icon will disappear. To protect another image, repeat step 2. To exit the image protection, press the < M > button. The menu will reappear. 3 Protecting Images Image protect icon Once an image is protected, it cann ot be erased by the camera’s Erase function. To erase a protected im age, you must first cancel the protection. If you erase all the images (p.119), only the protected images will remain. This is convenient when you want to erase unnecessary images all at once. You can protect the image even after you change the display format to shooting info display, magnified vi ew, or index display after step 1.
118 You can erase images individually or erase all the images at one time in \ the CF card. Only protected images will not be erased.Once an image is erased, it cannot be recovered. Make sure you no longer need the image before erasing it. To prevent important images from being erased accidentally, protect them. 1Display the image. Press the < x> button. 2Select the image to be erased. Turn the < 5> dial to select the image to be erased. 3Display the erase menu. Press the < L> button. X The Erase menu will appear at the bottom of the screen. 4Erase the image. Turn the < 5> dial to select [ Erase], then press < 0>. X The access lamp will blink and the image will be erased. If there are other images you want to erase, repeat steps 2 to 4. LErasing Images Erasing a Single Image
119 LErasing Images 1Display the image. Press the < x> button. 2Display the erase menu. Press the < L> button. X The Erase menu will appear at the bottom of the screen. 3Select [All]. Turn the < 5> dial to select [ All], then press < 0>. X The confirmation dialog will appear. 4Erase the images. Turn the < 5> dial to select [ OK], then press < 0>. X All unprotected images will be erased. While the images are being erased, you can cancel the erasure by pressing < 0>. Erasing All Images While data is being wri tten to the CF card (acc ess lamp blinking) after continuous shooting, press the < x> button and then press the < L> button to erase the displayed image or all images. If you select [All] and press the < 0 > button, the images capt ured during continuous shooting (including those not yet processed) and all the im ages on the CF card will be erased.
120 Format the CF card before using it in the camera.Formatting a CF card will erase everything in the card. Even protected images will be eras ed, so make sure there is nothing you need to keep. If necessary, transfer images to a personal computer before formatting the card. 1Select [Format]. Turn the < 5> dial to select [ c Format ], then press < 0>. X The confirmation dialog will appear. 2Format the CF card. Turn the < 5> dial to select [ OK], then press < 0>. X The CF card will be formatted (initialized). X When the formatting is completed, the menu will reappear. 3 Formatting the CF Card A non-Canon CF card or a CF card formatted with another camera or personal computer might not work with the camera. If this happens, format the card with the ca mera first. Then it might work with the camera. The CF card’s capacity displayed on the formatti ng screen may be lower than the capacity in dicated on the card. Handling “Err CF”If “Err CF ” (CF error) is displayed on the LCD panel, it indicates that a problem with the CF card is preventing the image da ta from being recorded or read. Use another CF card instead. Or, if you have a commerc ially-available CF card reader that can read the CF card, use it to transfer all the images in the card to a personal computer. After transferring all the images to a personal co mputer, format the CF card. It may then return to normal.
