1 1 1 IMPORTANT NOTE1 In this manual, the LCD messages of the MFC-J430W are used unless specified. Most of the illustrations in this User’s Guide show the MFC-J430W. Memory storage1 Even if there is a power failure, you will not lose the settings you have chosen using the Menu key because they are stored permanently. Chapter 1 2 Beeper Volume1 When the beeper is on, the machine will beep when you press a key, make a mistake, or after you send or receive a fax. General setup3 1 Automatic Daylight Saving Time 1 You can set the machine to change automatically for daylight saving time. It will reset itself forward one hour in the Spring and backward one hour in the Fall. Make sure you have set the correct date and time in the Date&Time setting. General setup5 1 Mode Timer1 The machine has three temporary mode keys on the control panel: FAX, SCAN and COPY . You can change the amount of time the machine takes after the last Scan or Copy operation before it returns to FAX mode.
