7 4. Attach your selected blade or disk t\Ào the center post in the bottom of the large workbowl (instructions for individual disks/bl\Àades follow in this manual).\À 5. Place the workbowl lid on top of the workbowl, aligning the tabs \Àand locking it int\Ào place by turning counterclockwise. The workbowl lid is locked when it clicks firmly in\Àto place. The lid will always and only lock when the\À feed chute is aligned with \Àthe workbowl handle. (B) Note: Be sure to lock the workbowl in place before attaching the blade\Às or disks and lid\À. 6. Insert the large food pusher into the feed chute of the lid. Push down until the pushe\Àr clicks into place and rests at the bottom of the feed chute. (C) 7. Plug in the applia\Ànce. If the appliance is properly assembled, the PULSE\À|OFF button will illuminate. If it does not, the i\Ànterlocks are not properly engaged. \bmportant: For your protection this applia\Ànce has an interlock system. The processor will not operate unless the lid and large pusher are properly locked in place. The unit will illum\Àinate the PULSE|OFF li\Àght when the base, lid and large pusher are in the proper position. USING THE FEED CHU\ÀTE AND PUSHERS Note: Before operating the food processor, be sure the workbowl, blades and workbowl lid are properly assembled on the food processor base. 1. Insert the large food pusher into the wide mouth feed chute. Insert the mediu\Àm pusher inside th\Àe large pusher and the \Àsmall food pusher inside \Àthe medium pusher. The food pushers are used to guide ingredients through the feed chute. The small and medium food pushers can be\À removed to add liquid or additional foods. (D) Note: The large pusher must remain in the feed chute in order for the processor to operate. The unit will continue to operate if the medium or\À small pushers are removed from the large pusher. \b. Place food to be processed in the opening\À of the large pusher. Use the medium pusher to guide food through the large pusher and feed chute. 3. Use the small food pusher to guide food through the medium pu\Àsher. 4. Use the small food pusher as a me\Àasuring cup. USING THE SPEED CONTROLS Note: If the food processor does not run, \Àmake sure the workbowl and lid are properly locked on the base and\À the large food pusher is full\Ày in place. There is an automatic safety lock that causes the food processor to stop working if the large B C D
8 food pusher pops ou\Àt and/or the lid and workbowl are not properly locked in place. The controls are located on the front of the base. See the speed chart be\Àlow for food processing and speed recommendations. Various speeds are used for chopping, mixing, dicing, sl\Àicing and shredding. When these\À functions are selected the processor will run continuously until \Àthe PULSE|OFF button is pressed to stop. (E)1. Plug in the applia\Ànce to turn it on. \b. Select low, medium or high s\Àpeed depending on \Àwhat task you are completing. Press and release PULSE button to pulse. 3. To stop, press PULSE|OFF. 4. Always unplug the appli\Àance when not in use. Only run the p\Àrocessor on LOW speed when using the dic\Àing disk. DO NOT use dicing disk \Àwith small workbowl. 1. Lock workbowl onto base. \b. Place the dicing shaft\À into the bottom of the dicing disk and turn cloc\Àkwise to lock it into place. (F) 3. Carefully pick up the\À dicing assembly using the fi\Ànger holes in the top of the disk and\À place in the workbowl over the center post. (G) 4. Place the dicing disk \Àwith the grid facing the F G E
9 workbowl handle (facing right) into the workbowl. Dicing disk can on\Àly be properly installed when grid faces the processor handle. 5. Push the dicing dis\Àk down, making sure it is secure in the work bowl. 6. Grasp dicing blade b\Ày the center using the finger\À grips. Insert the \Àcurved plastic edge under the\À outer edge of the dicing\À disk. (H) Place center of blade down onto the top of the visible d\Àicing shaft in the\À center of the dicing d\Àisk. You may need to rotate the center of the blade slightly to find the fit. \bmportant: Be sure to only handle blad\Àe with the safe finger grips. \bmportant: Always place the curved end of the blad\Àe under the lip of\À the dicing disk FIRST and then place the center of the blade on\À the center post of disk. 7. Place the lid on the f\Àood processor and lock into place. Place the ingredients to be diced into the feed chute. Turn the processor on LOW speed and use the \Àfood pusher to guide ingredients down. \bmportant: Do not use the di\Àcing disk on MEDIU\ÀM or HIGH speed. Only u\Àse LOW speed for best results. 8. After dicing and turn\Àing the processor off, unplug, then remove the lid and carefully lift the bl\Àade off the center post by lifting center of blade first, then pulling th\Àe curved edge up and away from the work bowl lip. (I) \bmportant: You must remove dicing blade from the dicing disk before using the dicing\À cleanout tool. Do not use th\Àe cleanout tool if the dicing \Àdisk is not in the\À workbowl. 9. Prior to removing the dicing dis\Àk from the workbowl, place the dicing clean\Àout tool in the holes o\Àn the dicing disk, align\Àing the outer posts with the outer notches (J). The curved edge of the cle\Àanout tool aligns with th\Àe curved edge of the dis\Àk. Push cleanout tool down into the dicing grid.\À This will push remaining food out of the gri\Àd, enabling you to wash the dicing dis\Àk more efficiently. Note: Hard foods like carrots may require more force to remove with the dicing \Àcleanout tool. It is normal \Àfor some foods to remain in the grid \Àuntil grid is washed. 10. Using the finger ho\Àles in the top of the dicing d\Àisk, lift the disk straight up to remove the disk from the food processor. Empty workbowl. (K) 11. Remove the dicing shaft\À from the dicing disk\À by turning counterclockwise. H I J K
10 HELPFUL TIPS WHEN \ÀUSING THE DICING DISK • Operate the dicing disk \Àon LOW speed. • It is recommended to stop dicing when workbowl is 60% full. • Blade must be removed from the top of the disk bef\Àore using the cleano\Àut tool. • Cut the ends of food to be diced off for most uniform dice. • For small and soft foods, such as strawberries, use the smallest feed chute for best results. • When dicing multip\Àle ingredients, dice softer foods first and end with hardest food. • When dicing soft c\Àheese, chill or freeze cheese prior to dicing. • Not recommended for dicing corned beef, raw meat, or chicken. • When dicing tomatoes, it is recommended to seed and peel th\Àem first. • Firm, seedless cucumbers work best. USING THE SLICING \ÀDISK (GREEN) \bmportant: The slicing disk ca\Àn only be used wit\Àh the large workbowl. Only run the processor on MEDIUM or L\ÀOW speed when using\À the slicing disk.\À DO NOT use slicing disk\À with small workbowl. 1. Lock the large workbowl into position on base\À. \b. Carefully place the slicing disk\À onto center post in workbowl. You may need to rotate disk slightly un\Àtil it fits onto post. 3. Place lid on workbowl and lock into place by rotating counterclockwise. Place the food pushers into the feed chute. Put ingredients in the feed chute and guide food down towards blade with the \Àfood pusher. Note: Position slicing di\Àsk just to the right of the\À feed chute. This allows the blade a full rotation before contacting the food. 4. To adjust the slicing thic\Àkness, move the lever at the base of feed chute forward and backwards to desired thickness setting (1-5mm). \À Turn the lever counterclockwise towards the front of the food processor for thicker slices and clockwise towards the back of the food processor for thinner slices. You are able to adjust thickness while the processor is running. (L) 5. Press MEDIUM or LOW speed to slice; press lightly but firml\Ày on food pusher to guide food through processor. Note: Heavy pressure on the pusher do\Àes not speed the w\Àork; use the pushe\Àr only as a guide. Let the processor do the work. Pushing too hard may result in inconsistent slicing thickn\Àess. Note: It is possible to change the thick\Àness of your slices by changing L
