14.8 Automatic startup
What can be done ?
The automatic startup allows immediate restart of the projector after a power failure (breakdown), i.e. without passing through the
standby state.
The projector restarts at power resume and recovers the previous settings (previous source,...).
This function can be disabled if undesired or inadequate for safety reasons,etc.
CAUTION:If the Automatic startup function is enabled one must be aware of the fact that it involves safety
precautions
Make sure that the projector (or the operators!) will not be affected by altered environmental conditions when
restarting at power resume.
How to enable/disable the Automatic startup?
1. PressMENUto activate the menu bar.
2. Press→to select theInstallationitem. (image 14-16)
3. Press↓to pull down theInstallationmenu.
4. Use↑or↓to selectAutomatic startup.
5. Press→to pull down the menu.
6. Use↓or↑to enable/disable the automatic startup.
OnAutomatic startup enabled
OffAutomatic startup disabled
7. PressENTERto confirm.

14.9 Security
What can be done ?
A security function is implemented in the projector that allows a protection against theft.
A PIN code allows the user to lock the projector in case of wrong code entry.
The PIN code must be entered at each start up (Power ON), entering three times a wrong number triggers a wait cycle of 15 minutes,
the second 3 wrong codes a wait cycle of 30 minutes, 1 hour, ...
The security mode can be enabled or disabled.
How to activate the security mode ?
1. PressMENUto activate the menu bar.
2. Press→to select theinstallationitem. (image 14-17)
3. Press↓to pull down the menu.
4. Use↑or↓to selectSecurity.
5. Press→to open the menu.
6. Use↑or↓to selectON.
On Security function enabled
Start up screen will contain the name of the owner of the projector.
PIN code will be necessary every time the projector lost power.
Off Security function disabled
7. PressENTER.
A dialog box is displayed. (image 14-18)
8. Use the arrow keys to selectYESand pressENTERto confirm.

The following things must be entered:
- Your name
- Company name
- Address or location
For more info about how to enter characters with the remote control, see Using the Dialog boxes, page 48.
9. PressACCEPT.
A dialog box is displayed.
Enter the PIN code, and confirm the newly entered PIN code. (image 14-20)
An informative text box is then displayed. PressENTERorBACKto escape. (image 14-21)

Activating the security mode involves
the following things:
- The startup screen (identification window)
will contain a line withthe name of the
owner in it.
- You will be asked to enter a PIN code
every time the projector lost its power.

7. PressENTERto confirm
An Enter PIN code dialog box will be displayed.
8. Enter your PIN code.
When the PIN codeis correct the security mode will be switched off.

During start up it is possible that one or more colors do not start up correctly.
To solve this problem, the formatters will be restarted. During this process, the image will disappear for a few seconds.
