Appendix B: Running Amanda from DOS Starting Amanda from DOS You can start Amanda from a DOS box—although you may never need to. Important Note:You can run Amanda as either a service or an application in a DOS window. However, before starting Amanda in a DOS win- dow, make sure that Amanda is not running as a service.
