After the camera s powered on, set the camera to Auto mode by turnng the Mode dal at the top of the top of the camera (see page 16). When usng the camera for the first- tme, the language settng page wll appear. Settng Language and Date/Tme When turnng on the camera for the first tme, the Dsplay Language and Date/Tme Setup menu wll appear. Use the followng procedures to set the camera to your preferences: 1. Push ON/OFF to turn on the camera. 2. Press Up/Down/Left/R ght button to select the sett ngs. 3. Press the button to confirm the settngs. Set Display Language 1. Press the button and the Left/Rght button and select the General Setup menu tab. 2. Use the Up/Down button and scroll down to Language . Then press the Right button to access the language opt ons. 3. Use the Up/Down/Left/Rght buttons to select the desred language. 4. Press the button to confirm the settng.

All the avalable modes are lsted as follows: Mode Name Icon Description Auto mode Take stll pctures n automatc mode. ASCN mode Have the camera automatcally select the best scene type for stll pctures. Program AE PTh s settng allows you to choose the EV value and the camera wll select both the shutter speed and aperture automatcally. Shutter prorty STh s settng allows you to choose a specfic shutter speed whle the camera wll adjust the aperture automatcally to ensure correct exposure. Aperture pr orty A Th s allows you to choose a specfic aperture and the camera wll automatcally the adjust the shutter speed to match t. Manual mode Many of the camera settngs can be configured manually n ths mode. Portrat Take portrat pctures under normal condtons. Panorama mode Capture a sequence of shots and sttch them together nto a panoramc photo. Move mode Record vdeos. Scene mode Choose from 20 dfferent scene types and effects for your photos.

If any of the followng stuatons arse, take the recommended mmedate acton ndcated below: • If lqud crystal comes n contact wth your skn, wpe the area wth a cloth and then wash thoroughly wth soap and runnng water. • If lqud crystal gets nto your eye, flush the affected eye wth clean water for at least 15 mnutes and then seek medcal assstance. • If the lqud crystal dsplay or the lqud nsde t are swallowed, flush your mouth thoroughly wth water. Drnk large quanttes of water and nduce vomtng. Then seek medcal assstance mmedately. About the LCD Screen When you turn the camera on, varous cons are shown on the LCD screen to ndcate the current camera settngs and status. To learn more about the dsplayed cons, see “LCD Screen display” on page 30. LCD Screen notes: Extremely hgh-precson technology has been used to manufacture the LCD screen so that most of the pxels are operatonal for use. However, there may be some mnute ponts (black, whte, red, blue or green) that constantly appear on the LCD screen. These ponts are normal n the manufacturng process and the recordng s not affected n any way. Avod exposng the LCD screen to water; please remove any mo sture on the LCD screen wth a soft, dry cleanng cloth.
