Clearing Paper Jams
Phaser® 8560 Color Printer 6-7
Jam at the Front Cover
To clear a jam at the front cover:
1.Pull up the latch on the front of th e printer to open the front cover.
2. Pull the jammed paper slowly out of the prin ter. Confirm that all paper fragments are 
removed.

Close the front cover.
4. If you did not find paper in the pr evious steps, follow these steps:
a. Open the exit cover.

b.
Pull the jammed paper slowly out of the prin ter. Confirm that all paper fragments are 
removed.
c. Lift the paper guides.
d. Remove jammed paper.

Close the exit cover.
5. If you did not find jammed paper in th e previous steps, follow these steps:
a. Pull all the trays completely out of the printer.

b.
Remove any jammed paper from inside the tr ay slot. Confirm that all paper fragments 
are removed.
c. Replace all trays and push each  one completely into the printer.
Note:  Use only the approved paper type, weight, and  size for this tray. Print custom size paper 
from Tray 1 only.

Jam at the Trays
To clear a jam from the tray specified on the control panel:
1.Pull the tray specified on  the control panel comple tely out of the printer.
2. Remove the top sheet from the tray.

Verify that the paper is loaded correctly in  the tray. Adjust the length and width tray 
guides:
a. Length guide : Press the sides, then slide the gu ide until the arrow on the guide points 
to the appropriate paper size imprinted on  the bottom of the tray. When properly 
positioned, the guide clicks into place.
b. Width guides : Slide the width guides until the a rrows on the guides point to the 
appropriate paper size labeled on the bottom  of the tray. When properly positioned, 
the guides click into place.
Note:  When the paper guides are correctly adju sted, there may be a small space between 
the paper and the guides.

4.
Remove jammed paper inside the tray slot.  Confirm that all paper fragments are removed.
5. Insert the tray into the tray slot an d push it completely into the printer.
