ConnectingadevicetotheIROUT infraredterminalusingtheIR blastercableforIRpass-through devicecontrol YoucanusetheTVsIROUTterminal (infrared pass through) toremotely operate(through theTV) many infrared remote-controlled devices(suchasToshiba infraredremote controlled VCRsorDVD players) enclosed withinan entertainment centerorsimilar cabinet. Without the IROUT connection, thedevice typically wouldneedtobe visible to operate itremotely. Youwillneed: • dual-wand IRblaster cable(1J@fpage12) • other audio/video cablesasrequired toconnect thedevice(s) to the TV(1J@fpages 13-16) FrontofIR-controlledDVDplayer(forexample) Toconnect theIRblastercable: 1Locatetheinfrared sensoronthe frontofyour device. This sensor ismarked onsome devices. * 2Align oneoftheIRblaster cables wandsabout1inch away fromtheinfrared sensoronthe front ofthe device and attach itusing double-sided mountingtape. Preparingtheremotecontrol foruse Installingtheremotecontrol batteries Removethebattery coverfromthebackofthe remote control. Install twoAAA sizebatteries, makingsuretomatch the +and -signs onthe batteries tothe signs onthe battery compartment. Your TVremote control canoperate yourTVand many other devices suchascable converter boxes,satellite receivers, VCRs, DVDplayers, andHTIBs (hometheater inabox), even if they aredifferent brands. Ifyouhave aToshiba device: YourTVremote controlispreprogrammedtooperate most Toshiba devices (~page24).
