Using a supervisor password
A supervisor password prevents other users from changing 
hardware configuration options.
Setting a supervisor password
If you choose to set a supervisor or user password, Toshiba strongly 
recommends that you save your password in a location where you 
can later access it should you not remember it.

The supervisor password utility dialog box appears.
7 Select  Able to run HWSetup  or Unable to run HWSetup  
and then Click  OK.
8 Restart the system to complete the process.
Deleting a supervisor password
To delete a supervisor password:
1Click  Start, All Programs , To s h i b a , Utilities , and then 
TOSHIBA Assist .
The TOSHIBA Assist window appears.
2 On the left side, click the  Secure tab.

To register a password for the power-on password functions:
1Click  Start, All Programs , To s h i b a , Utilities , and then 
TOSHIBA Password Utility .
The TOSHIBA Password Utility window appears.

3 Enter your password, and then  enter it again to verify.
4 Click  OK.

mouse settings.
To access the Mouse utility:

and Sound , or click the  Mouse icon in the  Optimize tab of

TOSHIBA Hardware Setup
TOSHIBA Hardware Setup is the Toshiba configuration 
management tool available through the Windows® operating 
system. To access it:
❖ Click  Start, All Programs , To s h i b a , Utilities , and then 
HWSetup , or click the  TOSHIBA Hardware Setup  icon in 
the  Optimize  tab of TOSHIBA Assist .

❖CPU —Allows you to enable or disable CPU frequency 
switching modes
Dynamically Switchable —This mode is the default setting for 
your computer, and automatica lly changes the processing 
frequency and decreases voltage depending on the power 
source:
❖ AC  Pow e r —If your computer is  connected to the AC 
adaptor, the CPU frequency mode is set to high for faster 
processing.

By changing any of the options that appear in the dialog boxes and 
clicking  Apply, you can reconfigure that function. Any options that 
you change will become default settings when you restart your 
system.
