Off : Does not compensate for the color deviation. Note The [Chro. Aber. Comp.] function is only available when an E-mount lens is mounted. [133] How to Use Using shooting functionsSetting the other functions of this product Distortion Comp. Compensates for the distortion of the screen, caused by certain lens characteristics. 1. MENU → (Custom Settings ) → [Lens Comp.] → [Distortion Comp.] → desired setting. Menu item details Auto : Compensates for distortion of the screen automatically. Off (default setting): Does not compensate for distortion of the screen. Note The [Distortion Comp.] function is only available when an E-mount lens is mounted. Depending on the attached lens, [Distortion Comp.] is fixed to [Auto] , and you cannot select [Off]. [134] How to Use Using shooting functionsSetting the other functions of this product Aperture Preview With the monitor, you may see an image with an aperture that differs from the shooting result. Since the blurring of a subject changes if the aperture is changed, the blurriness of
the actual picture will differ from the image you were viewing prior to shooting. While you press and hold the key to which you assigned the [Aperture Preview] function, the aperture is stepped down to the set aperture value and you can check the blurriness prior to shooting.1. MENU → (Custom Settings ) → [Custom Key Settings] → set the [Aperture Preview] function to the desired key. 2 . Confirm the image by pressing the key to which [Aperture Preview] was assigned. Hint Although you can change the aperture value during the preview, the subject may be defocused if you select a brighter aperture. We recommend that you adjust the focus again. Note You cannot set the [Aperture Preview] function to [Left Button] , [Right Button] or [Down Button]. [135] How to Use Using shooting functionsSetting the other functions of this product Shot. Result Preview With the monitor, you may see an image with an aperture that differs from the shooting result. Since the blurring of a subject changes if the aperture is changed, the blurriness of the actual picture will differ from the image you were viewing prior to shooting. While pressing down the key to which [Shot. Result Preview] is assigned, you can check the image preview with the DRO, shutter speed, aperture and ISO sensitivity settings applied. Check the shooting result preview before shooting. 1. MENU → (Custom Settings ) → [Custom Key Settings] → set the [Shot. Result Preview] function to the desired key. 2 . Confirm the image by pressing the key to which [Shot. Result Preview] was assigned. Hint The DRO settings, shutter speed, aperture and ISO sensitivity settings you have set are reflected on the image for [Shot. Result Preview], but some effects cannot be previewed depending on the shooting settings. Even in that case, the settings you have selected will be applied to the images you shoot.
Note You cannot set the [Shot. Result Preview] function to [Left Button], [Right Button] or [Down Button] . [136] How to Use Using shooting functionsShooting using the touch panel Shooting still images using touch operation (Touch Shutter) The product automatically focuses on the point you touch and takes a still picture. 1. MENU → (Custom Settings ) → [Touch Shoot. Set.] → [Touch Shutter] 2 . Touch the icon on the monitor while the shooting screen is displayed. The mark to the left of the icon turns orange. To cancel [Touch Shutter] , touch the icon again. 3 . Touch the subject to focus on. When the subject you touched is in focus, a still image is recorded. Hint You can operate the shooting functions below by touching the monitor: Shooting burst images using the touch shutter When [Drive Mode] is set to [Cont. Shooting], you can record burst images while touching the monitor. Shooting burst images of sports scenes using the touch shutter When [Scene Selection] is set to [Sports Action], you can record burst images while touching the monitor. Shooting continuous bracket images using the touch shutter The product shoots three images while automatically shifting the exposure from base, to darker, and then to lighter. When [Drive Mode] is set to [Cont. Bracket], keep touching the monitor until the shooting ends. After the recording you can select the image you prefer. Note The [Touch Shutter] function is unavailable in the following situations: When [Shoot Mode] is set to [Movie] When [Shoot Mode] is set to [Sweep Panorama] When [Scene Selection] is set to [Night Scene] When [Smile/Face Detect.] is set to [Smile Shutter]
When [Focus Mode] is set to [Manual Focus] When [Focus Area] is set to [Flexible Spot] While using Digital Zoom You cannot shoot images using [Touch Shutter] with applications downloaded from the website. [137] How to Use Using shooting functionsShooting using the touch panel Taking pictures of yourself using touch operation (Self- portrait/ -timer) You can change the angle of the monitor and shoot a self-portrait while watching the monitor. 1. MENU → (Custom Settings ) → [Self -portrait/ -timer] → [On] 2 . Tilt the monitor approx. 180° upward. Set [Focus Mode] to another mode than [Manual Focus] . The touch shutter function cannot be used when [Focus Mode] is set to [Manual Focus] mode. Even if [Touch Shoot. Set.] is set to [Touch Focus] , if you tilt the monitor approx. 180°upward, you can use the touch shutter function. 3 . Point the lens toward yourself, compose the shot, then touch the subject on the monitor. The product records a still image after three seconds. Specifying the desired focus point (Touch Focus) A frame appears around the point you touched, and when you press the shutter button halfway down the product adjusts the focus within that frame. 1. MENU → (Custom Settings ) → [Touch Shoot. Set.] → [Touch Focus] 2 . MENU → (Camera Settings ) → [Center Lock-on AF] → [Off] 3 . Touch the subject to focus on. 4 . Press the shutter button fully down to shoot the image. 5 . To cancel focusing, touch the icon. Tracking and focusing on the touched subject (Lock-on AF ) The product continuously tracks a designated moving subject. 1. MENU → (Custom Settings ) → [Touch Shoot. Set.] → [Touch Focus] 2 . MENU → (Camera Settings ) → [Center Lock-on AF] → [On] (default setting) 3 . Touch the desired area to start [Lock-on AF] . 4 . Press the shutter button fully down to shoot the image. 5 . To cancel [Lock-on AF], touch the icon. Displaying a magnified view of the touched subject ( Focus Magnifier) You can view an enlarged display in order to focus manually. 1. MENU → (Camera Settings ) → [Focus Mode] → [Manual Focus] 2 . Touch the point to focus on. 3 . Turn the focus ring to adjust the focus. 4 . Press the shutter button fully down to shoot the image.

Tracking and focusing on the touched subject (Lock-on AF) The product continuously tracks a designated moving subject. 1. MENU → (Camera Settings ) → [Center Lock-on AF] → [On] (default setting) 2 . Touch the desired area to start [Lock-on AF] before/while recording a movie. 3 . To cancel [Lock-on AF], touch the icon. Focusing on the touched subject (Spot Focus) The product automatically focuses on the subject you touch on the monitor. The [Focus Mode] automatically switches to [Manual Focus] . 1 . MENU → (Camera Settings ) → [Center Lock-on AF] → [Off] 2 . Touch the subject you want to focus on before/while recording the movie. 3 . To cancel Spot Focus, touch the icon. Displaying a magnified view of the touched subject ( Focus Magnifier) You can view an enlarged display in order to focus manually. 1. MENU → (Camera Settings ) → [Focus Mode] → [Manual Focus]

[140] How to Use ViewingViewing still images Playing back images Plays back the recorded images. 1. Press the (Playback) button to switch to the playback mode. 2 . Select the image with the control wheel. Hint The product creates an image database file on a memory card to record and play back images. An image that is not registered in the image database file may not be played back correctly. To play back images shot using other devices, register those images to the image database file using MENU → [Setup] → [Recover Image DB] . [141] How to Use ViewingViewing still images Playback zoom Enlarges the image being played back. 1. Display the image you want to enlarge, and slide the W/T (zoom) lever to the T side. If the image is too large, slide the W/T (zoom) lever to the W side to adjust the zoom scale.
2. Select the portion you want to enlarge by pressing the top/bottom/right/left side of the control wheel. 3 . Press the MENU button, or in the center of the control wheel to exit the playback zoom. Hint You can also enlarge an image being played back using MENU. Note You cannot enlarge movies. [142] How to Use ViewingViewing still images Image Index You can display multiple images at the same time in playback mode. 1. Slide the W/T (zoom) lever to the W side while the image is being played back. To change the number of images to be displayed MENU → (Playback ) → [Image Index] → desired setting. Menu item details 12 Images (default setting) /30 Images To return to single-image playback Select the desired image and press on the center of the control wheel. To display a desired image quickly Select the bar on the left of the image index screen using the control wheel, then press the top/bottom side of the control wheel. While the bar is being selected, you can display the calendar screen or folder selection screen by pressing in the center. In addition, you can switch View Mode by selecting an icon. Switching the screen display (during playback) Switches the screen display.1. Press the DISP (Display Setting) button. The screen display switches in the order “Display Info. → Histogram → No Disp. Info. → Display Info. ” each time you press the DISP button. The DISP (Display Setting) settings are applied for the Auto Review display. Note The histogram is not displayed in the following situations: During movie playback During scrolling playback of panoramic images During slideshows During Folder View (MP4) During AVCHD View During XAVC S View [144] How to UseViewingDeleting images Deleting a displayed image You can delete an image displayed. 1. Display the image you want to delete. 2 . Press the (Delete) button. 3 . Select [Delete] using the control wheel, then press on the center of the control wheel. [145] How to Use ViewingDeleting images Deleting multiple selected images You can delete multiple selected images.
1. MENU → (Playback ) → [Delete] → desired setting. Menu item details Multiple Img. : Deletes the selected images. (1) Select the images to be deleted, then press on the center of the control wheel. The mark is displayed in the check box. To cancel the selection, press again to remove the mark. (2) To delete other images, repeat step (1). (3) MENU → [OK] → Press on the center. All in this Folder : Deletes all images in the selected folder. All with this date : Deletes all images in the selected date range. Hint Perform [Format] to delete all images, including protected images. Note The menu items that can be selected differ depending on the [View Mode] setting. [146] How to Use ViewingPlaying back movies Playing back movies Plays back the recorded movies. 1. Press the (playback) button to switch to playback mode. 2 . Select the movie to be played back using the control wheel. 3 . To play back movies, press on the center. Available operations during movie playback You can perform slow playback and sound volume adjustment, etc. by pressing the bottom side of the control wheel. : Playback : Pause
