47 LC-32LB370U/LC-50LB370U Sharp 32"/50" LED TV •Speaker—Selects where to play TV audio. When you connect headphones to your TV, audio plays through both the headphones and the TV speakers. You can select: •Auto (default setting)—Automatically turns off the TV speakers when you connect a device to the /AUDIO OUT jack. When the device is disconnected, the TV speakers turn on automatically. •On—Always plays the audio through the TV speakers. If a device is connected to the /AUDIO OUT jack, the audio is played through both the T V speakers and the device. •Off—Turns off the TV speakers and plays the audio only through the device connected to the /AUDIO OUT jack. If you disconnect the device, the TV speakers remain turned off. •Digital Audio Format/Audio Delay—Sends digital audio to an external audio system. You can select: •Audio Format—Selects how the digital audio is sent to the external audio system. You can select: •Pass Thru—Outputs the original digital audio sound. •PCM—Outputs audio in 2-channel stereo. •Audio Delay—Fine tunes the audio when it is not in sync with the video. •DTS TruSurround—Sets your preferences for audio enhancement features. You can select: •Surround sound—Adds virtual surround sound to the TV speakers. You can select On or Off. •Dialogue Clarity—Provides dialog enhancement for clear and intelligible vocals. You can select Low, Medium, or High. •Headphones/Audio Out—You can use the /AUDIO OUT jack on the side of your T V to connect headphones, a home theater system, or a sound bar. When a device is connected to the /AUDIO OUT jack, the TV speakers are muted. You can select: •Headphones/Audio Out—Select this option to use the remote control that came with your T V to control the audio from the headphones, home theater system, sound bar, or external speaker system you connected to the /AUDIO OUT jack. •Audio Out Fixed—Select this option to use the remote control that came with the home theater system, sound bar, or external speaker system you connected to the /AUDIO OUT jack to control the audio. This option is only available when a device is connected to the /AUDIO OUT jack. •Reset Sound Settings —Reset all audio settings to factory defaults.•Analog TV Audio—(Analog channels only) Selects the audio mode. You can select: •Mono—Select this option if there is noise or static on weak stereo broadcasts. •Stereo—Select this option for programs broadcast in stereo. •SAP—Select this option to listen to a secondary audio program, if available. •Audio Language—(Digital channels only) Selects an alternate audio language, if available. 4Press W or X to adjust the option. 5Press MENU to return to the previous menu, or press EXIT to close the menu. Selecting the audio out mode If your T V is on when you connect a device to the /AUDIO OUT jack on the side of your TV, a screen opens where you select which audio out mode you want to use. 1Connect headphones, an amplifier, a home theater system, or a sound bar to the /AUDIO OUT jack on the side of your TV. 2Press W or X to highlight the audio out mode you want to use, then press ENTER. You can select: •Headphones/Audio Out—Select this option to use the remote control that came with your T V to control the audio from the headphones, home theater system, sound bar, or external speaker system you connected to the /AUDIO OUT jack. •Audio Out Fixed—Select this option to use the remote control that came with the home theater system, sound bar, or external speaker system you connected to the /AUDIO OUT jack to control the audio. Note You can also press AUDIO one or more times to select the audio mode.
48 LC-32LB370U/LC-50LB370U Sharp 32"/50" LED TV Playing TV audio only You can turn off the picture on your TV and listen to the program audio only. 1Press MENU, 2Press W or X to highlight Channels, then press ENTER. 3Press S or T to highlight Audio Only, then press ENTER or X to access the option. 4Press W or X to select On. 5Press MENU to return to the previous menu, or press EXIT to close the menu. Changing channel settings Automatically scanning for channels When you scan for channels, your TV searches for channels with signals and stores the channel information in the channel list. When you press CH or CH, your TV goes to the next or previous channel in the channel list. If the TV signal source changes, for example you change from an outdoor antenna to cable TV (no box), you need to scan for channels. 1Press MENU. 2Press W or X to highlight Channels, then press ENTER. 3Press S or T to highlight Auto Channel Search, then press ENTER. Notes • The picture turns off in about five seconds. •Audio Only works only when the input source is TV and your TV is receiving a broadcast signal. • To exit audio only mode, press any button. When you exit audio only mode, the Audio Only option is automatically reset to Off.

AIf you select Cable/Satellite Box, a screen opens to show the ways you can connect a cable or satellite box. Press ENTER. A message tells you that setup is complete. Press ENTER to close the menu. BIf you select Cable from the wall, your TV scans for channels. The scan may take several minutes. When a message tells you that setup is complete, press ENTER to close the menu. CIf you select Antenna, your TV scans for available channels. The scan may take several minutes. When a message tells you that setup is complete, press ENTER to close the menu.Hiding channels You can hide channels in the channel list. When you press CH or CH, your TV skips the hidden channels. You can still tune to a hidden channel by pressing the number buttons for the channel. 1Press MENU. 2Press W or X to highlight Channels, then press ENTER. 3Press S or T to highlight Channel Skip, then press ENTER or X to access the option. Note You can press EXIT to stop the auto channel search, but you will need to run the auto channel search again to create a channel list.

When you hide a channel the circle is empty. 5Press MENU to return to the previous menu, or press EXIT to close the menu. Setting up a favorite channel list You can create a favorite channel list so you can quickly browse through your favorite channels by pressing FAVO R I TE, then selecting a channel from the favorite channel list. 1Press MENU. 2Press W or X to highlight Channels, then press ENTER. 3Press S or T to highlight Favor ites, then press ENTER. 4Press S T W or X to highlight the channel you want to add to the favorites list, then press ENTER. Each channel has a circle to the left. When you add a channel to the Fa vor ite List, the circle is filled. 5Press MENU to return to the previous menu, or press EXIT to close the menu. Viewing a favorite channel 1Press FAV O R I T E. 2Press S or T to highlight a channel, then press ENTER. Notes • If you highlight a channel in the list for two to four seconds, your TV displays the channel in the background. • A channel with a filled circle is not hidden. A channel with an empty circle is hidden. • If the list has more than one page, press S or T to scroll through the pages. Notes • If you highlight a channel in the list for two to four seconds, your TV displays the channel in the background. • To remove a channel from the favorites list, highlight the channel, then press ENTER. The filled circle is replaced with an empty circle and the channel is removed from the list. • If the list has more than one page, press S or T to scroll through the pages.

You can also relabel a channel that is already labeled. 1Press MENU. 2Press W or X to highlight Channels, then press ENTER. 3Press S or T to highlight Channel Edit, then press ENTER. 4Press W or X to select the channel you want to label, then press T to move to the channel label field. 5Press S or T to select a character, then press W or X to move to the previous or next character position. Repeat this step to enter additional characters. You can enter as many as 11 characters. 6When you have completed the label, press ENTER. 7Press EXIT to close the menu.

The higher the signal strength, the less likely you are to experience picture degradation. 1Press MENU. 2Press W or X to highlight Channels, then press ENTER. 3Press S or T to highlight Signal Strength, then press ENTER. 4Press MENU to return to the previous menu, or press EXIT to close the menu. Setting parental controls Parental controls let you prevent your children from watching inappropriate material on TV. When set, parental controls read the rating of the program (with some exceptions, such as news and sports) and deny access to programs that exceed the ratings level you select. To watch programs that exceed the selected rating, you must enter a password. Setting or changing the password 1Press MENU. 2Press W or X to highlight Settings, then press ENTER. 3Press S or T to highlight Parental Controls, then press ENTER.

A message tells you that the password has been changed. 7Press MENU to return to the previous menu, or press EXIT to close the menu. Blocking unrated TV Some TV programs, such as news and sports shows are not rated. When you set UnRated/Exempt Ratings to Block, TV programs that do not have ratings are blocked. When you try to watch a blocked program, you are prompted to enter the parental controls password. 1Press MENU. 2Press W or X to highlight Settings, then press ENTER. 3Press S or T to highlight Parental Controls, then press ENTER. 4Press the number buttons to enter the four-digit password. Note If you forget your password, enter 9999.

If a rating has sub-ratings, press W or X to highlight a sub-rating. 8Press ENTER to confirm. The circle next to a rating is filled when a rating is blocked. 9Press MENU to return to the previous menu, or press EXIT to close the menu. Downloading rating information If the program you are viewing has downloadable rating information, you can download the information to use when setting parental controls. 1Press MENU. 2Press W or X to highlight Settings, then press ENTER. 3Press S or T to highlight Parental Controls, then press ENTER. Note When you block a rating, that rating and all higher ratings are blocked. Note If the program you are viewing does not have V-Chip rating information, Open V-CHIP is grayed on the Settings · Parental Controls menu and cannot be selected.

Locking control buttons When the button lock is turned On, the buttons on the side of your TV are locked, and you can only operate your T V using the remote control. 1Press MENU. 2Press W or X to highlight Settings, then press T or ENTER. 3Press S or T to highlight Button Lock, then press ENTER or X to access the option. 4Press W or X to select On (locks the buttons) or Off (unlocks the buttons). 5Press MENU to return to the previous menu, or press EXIT to close the menu.
