Blocking Mode When Blocking mode is enabled, notifications for selected features are blocked, and you only receive the notifications you choose. You can choose to block notifications by feature or contact, and choose blocking all the time, or during a specific time period. 1. Press and then touch > Settings > Blocking mode. 2. Touch the ON/OFF switch next to Blocking mode to enable or disable the setting. Blocking mode must be enabled to configure options. 3. When Blocking mode is enabled, choose features to block: l Turn off notifications: Notifications for new messages will not display. l Turn off alarm: Notifications for alarms will not display. 4. Touch Brightness to configure options: l Touch the check box next to Automatic brightness to allow the tablet to adjust brightness automatically. l To set a custom brightness level, clear the Automatic brightness checkmark and then touch and drag the Brightness level slider.

Normally, your tablet mounts a memory card as soon as you install it. o Unmount SD card: Prepare an installed memory card for safe removal or formatting. o Format SD card: Permanently remove all content from an installed memory card. After formatting, the content cannot be retrieved. Power Saving Mode Configure Power saving mode settings to conserve battery power. 1. Press and then touch > Settings. 2. Touch Power saving mode to configure options: l Touch ON/OFF to turn Power saving mode On or Off. Power saving mode must be turned On to configure settings. l CPU performance: When enabled, the maximum performance of the tablet’s CPU (Central Processing Unityf is disabled to conserve battery power. Touch the check box next to the option to enable or disable it. l Screen output: When enabled, the frame refresh rate and brightness level are reduced to conserve power. Power Saving Tips Active applications, light levels, Bluetooth usage, and GPS functionality all act to drain your battery. The following is a list of helpful tips that can help conserve your battery power: n Reduce your backlight time. n Turn Bluetooth off when not in use.

Most applications using this function will periodically query the GPS satellites for your current location; each query drains your battery. n Do not wait until your battery is completely depleted before charging your tablet. Repeating this process of a complete discharge and recharge can over time reduce the storage capacity of any battery. n Turn off Automatic application sync. n Check the Battery settings to review features or functions that have been consuming your battery power. n Check the Running Services and close any unnecessary applications. n Animated wallpapers use an increased amount of power and memory. Change your Live Wallpaper to a non-animated Wallpaper gallery or Gallery image. Battery Settings Your tablet is equipped with a Lithium Ion (Li-Ionyf battery. It allows you to recharge your battery before it is fully drained. The battery provides up to 8.7 hours of continuous digital talk time. When the battery level becomes critically low, the tablet plays a tone, displays a critical charge icon in the Status bar. If you continue using the tablet without charging, the tablet will turn off automatically when the charge level becomes too low to continue operating. Use the battery settings menu to view apps or processes that are using battery power. 1. Press and then touch > Settings > Battery. 2. Configure options: l Touch Show battery percentage to display the percentage of total battery power available on the battery icon in the Status bar. l Touch an item for more information, or to configure options for managing power use. Application Manager You can download and install applications from the Google Play Store or Samsung Apps and install them on your tablet. Use Application manager to manage applications on your tablet. Warning!
