84 Media Center • Edit: Modify the selected picture: -Eects: Choose an eect to apply to the picture. Press the Directional key right or left to see dierent eects, then press Save to save the eect to the picture. -Decorate: Press Add to add a Frame or Clip Art to the picture. -Revision: Adjust the Brightness, Saturation, Contrast or Blur. -Merge: Choose two pictures to combine. Press Set to choose another picture, then press OK. Press Merge to combine the pictures. -Copy/Paste: Select a portion of one picture (the Foreground) to paste on another picture (the Background) . Highlight Foreground or Background, then press Set and follow the prompts. -Resize: Change the resolution of the picture. -Rotate/Flip: Rotate the selected picture in incremental steps or ip the picture horizontally or vertically. • Rename: Change the name of the picture. • Move : Move the picture to the phone or optional memory card. • Lock/Unlock: Lock the picture to protect it from erasure or Unlock. • Full view: Display the picture full-screen. • Slide show: Set a duration, then play a slide show of all pictures in My Pictures. • File info: View details about the picture. 85 Media Center My Videos View and manage videos. Note : Copyright-protected videos cannot be uploaded or sent as a message attachment. 1. From the Home screen, press Menu > Media center > Picture & video > My videos. 2. Use the Directional key to browse video thumbnails. Highlight a thumbnail, then use these options: • Press Play to view the video. Press Clear key to return to thumbnails. • Press Erase to delete the highlighted video. 3. While viewing thumbnails, press Options for these options: • Send: Attach the video to a new Video Message or post to Blogs. • Record video: Launch the Camcorder to record a new video. • Set as wallpaper: Set the video as an animated wallpaper on the Home screen. • Manage videos: Erase videos, Lock (and Unlock) videos to prevent erasure, and move videos to the phone or optional memory card. • Rename: Change the name of the highlighted video. • File info: Display information about the video. 4. To view a video, highlight a thumbnail and press Play. While viewing the video, use these options: • Use the Directional key to control playback: -Press up to switch to full-screen playback. -Press right to move to the next video or press and hold to scan forward though the current video. -Press down to stop playback. -Press left to move to the previous video or press and hold to scan backward through the current video. 86 Media Center • Press Mute/Unmute to control audio playback. • Press Options for options: -My videos: Return to My Videos. -File info: Display information about the video. -Help: View information about using the Directional key with playback. Take Pictures Your phone’s built-in camera produces photos in JPEG format. Note: Do not take photos of people without their permission. Do not take photos in places where cameras are not allowed. Do not take photos in places or in a manner where you may interfere with another person’s privacy. 1. With the ip open, press Camera/Camcorder. – or – From the Home screen, press Menu > Media center > Picture & video > Take picture. Note : You can also launch Camera with the phone closed. Press Menu, then use the Volume key to highlight Take picture and press OK. 2. S et Options, if desired. For more information, see “Picture Options” on page 87 . 3. Using the screen as a viewnder, compose your picture by aiming the lens at your subject. 4. Press Ta ke to take the picture. 5. Af ter taking a photo, use the soft keys for these options: • Press Erase to delete the new photo. • Press Send to attach it to a new picture message. • Press Save to save the picture to My pictures. 87 Media Center Picture Options Use Picture Options to customize your photos. Note : While setting Options, press Help for information about an option. 1. With the ip open, press Camera/Camcorder. – or – From the Home screen, press Menu > Media center > Picture & video > Take picture. 2. Use the number keys f or Settings shortcuts. For example: • Press 1 to select Camera or Camcorder mode. • Press 2 to select Shooting mode. • Press 3 to set a Timer for a delay between pressing Ta ke and the taking of the photo. • Press * to select a Flash mode. For more information, see “Settings” on page 111 . 3. Press Options and use the Directional key left and right to view these options. • Mode: Switch between Camera and Camcorder. • Shooting mode: Choose Single shots, Continuous shooting, Mosaic shots to merge into one image, add a Frame, or take multiple shots to form a Panorama. • Resolution: Choose a resolution for new photos, from 5M (2592x1936) , 3.1M (2048x1536) , 1.9M (1600x1200) , 1.2M (1280x960) , or 0.3M (640x480) . • Auto focus: Turn auto focus On or O. • Flash: Choose a ash setting, from Auto, On, Only this Shot, or O. • Brightness: Choose a setting for image brightness, from 1 to 9. • White balance: Choose a setting for the type of light, from Auto, Daylight, Incandescent, Fluorescent, or Cloudy. • Exposure metering: Select an area for measuring exposure level, from Matrix, Center-weighted, or Spot. 88 Media Center • Eects: Choose an eect to add to photos, from None, Black & White, Antique, or Negative. • Night shot: Select On when taking pictures of night to adjust for low level of light. • Timer: Choose a time delay when taking a picture, from O (no delay) , 2 Seconds, 5 Seconds, or 10 Seconds. • Viewnder mode: Choose to display either Icons, No Icons, or Guidelines on the viewnder. • Preview mode: Select the screen size for previews after you take a new picture, from Full screen or Standard screen. • Settings : Choose detailed Photo and Setup options. -Photo quality: Set image quality, from Normal, Fine, or Superne. -Review: Set the preview mode for viewing pictures after you take them. -Shutter sound: Turn On to have a sound play when you press TAKE. -Auto name: Turn On to have new pictures named automatically. -Memory: Choose the default save location, Phone memory or memory Card. -Shortcuts: View shortcuts for using keypad keys to quickly access Camera settings when taking a picture. Record Videos Record videos with your phone’s built-in Camcorder. Note : Do not take videos of people without their permission. Do not take videos in places where cameras are not allowed. Do not take videos in places or in a manner where you may interfere with another person’s privacy. 1. Use the soft keys to control recording: • Press Pause/Resume to temporarily halt recording, then start again. • Press Stop to stop recording. • Press Mute/Unmute to control audio recording. 5. After recording a video, use the soft keys for options: • Press Save to save the video to My Videos. • Press Play to view the video. For information about playing videos, see “My Videos” on page 85 . • Press Erase to delete the new photo. Video Options Use Video Options to customize your videos. 91 Media Center EasyMove Transfer photos stored in your phone to a compatible Samsung device. 1. From the Home screen, press Menu > Media center. 2. Pres s EasyMove and follow the prompts to transfer your photos. Push To Talk Plus Push one button to contact other Verizon Wireless™ Push to Talk (PTT) customers. N ote : You must have PTT service activated on your account to use the PTT+ app. For complete details, go to verizonwireless.com/ptt . D o w n l o a d P T T+ If PTT+ is not preloaded on your device, you will need to download it from the Apps store. 1. From the Home screen, press Menu > Apps. 2. Se arch for PTT Plus, and follow the prompts to download the app. Activate PT T+ To activate the PTT+ app: 1. From the Home screen, press Menu > Media center > Push to talk plus. 2. Press Purchase and follow the prompts to download the application. Main Menu
92 Media Center Release the PTT Key to let another party talk. Access PTT+ You can access the PTT+ app in a couple of ways. ► From the Home screen, press Menu > Media center > Push to talk plus. – or – Press PT T to access the PTT+ app. Alert Calls An alert call sends a tone, which gives the recipient the option to either answer or ignore the call. Make an Alert Call To make an Alert call: 1. Press PTT to access the PTT+ app. 2. Highlight t he contact you want to alert. • Press the Directional key to the right to view your PTT+ contact list. 3. Pres s Alert. The screen will notify you if the alert is successfully sent. • If the called party answers the alert, the Call in Progress screen will open and you can begin your PTT call. Receive Alert Calls When your phone receives an alert, the Instant Personal Alert screen will display the contact information of the caller. To answer the alert: 1. Press and hold PTT and begin talking. 2. 3. Pres s End/Power to end the call. To dismiss t he alert: ► Press Dismiss. Main Menu
93 Media Center Barge Calls A Barge call automatically connects to the recipient. Make a Barge Call To make a Barge call: 1. Press PTT to access the PTT+ app. 2. Highlight the c ontact you want to alert. • Press the Directional key to the right to view your PTT+ contact list. 3. Press and hold PTT. List en for the tone and then begin speaking. 4. Release PTT when you have nished speaking. This allows the called party to reply. 5. Press End/Power to end the call. Answer a Barge Call When your phone receives a Barge call, the Barge tone plays. You then hear the calling party speaking through the speaker phone. The calling party’s wireless number or saved contact name appears on your display. To answer a Barge call: 1. Press and hold PTT to talk. 2. Release PTT to let another party talk. 3. Press End/Power to end the call. Main Menu
