81LSQT1319 Before opening the CD-ROM package, please read the following. You (“Licensee”) are granted a license for the Software defined in this End User Software Agreement (“Agreement”) on condition that you agree to the terms and conditions of this Agreement. If Licensee does not agree to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, promptly return the Software to Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. (“Matsushita”), its distributors or dealers from which you made the purchase. Article 1 License Licensee is granted the right to use the software, including the information recorded or described on the CD-ROM, instruction manuals, and any other media provided to Licensee (collectively “Software”), but all applicable rights to patents, copyrights, trademarks and trade secrets in the Software are not transferred to Licensee. Article 2 Use by a Third Party Licensee may not use, copy, modify, transfer or allow any third party, whether free of charge or not, to use, copy or modify the Software, except as expressly provided for in this Agreement. Article 3 Restrictions on Copying the Software Licensee may make a single copy of the Software in whole or in part solely for back-up purposes. Article 4 Computer Licensee may only use the Software on a single computer at a single location. Article 5 Reverse Engineering, Decompiling or Disassembly Licensee may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except to the extent either of them is permitted under law or regulation of the country where Licensee resides. Matsushita, or its distributors or dealers will not be responsible for any defects in the Software or damage to Licensee caused by Licensee’s reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembly of the Software.Article 6 Limitation of Liability The Software is provided “AS-IS” without warranty of any kind, either expressed or implied, including, but not limited to, warranties of non- infringement, merchantability and/or fitness for a particular purpose. Further, Matsushita does not warrant that the operation of the Software will be uninterrupted or error free. Matsushita or any of its distributors or dealers will not be liable for any damage suffered by Licensee arising from or in connection with Licensee’s use of the Software. Article 7 Export Control Licensee agrees not to export or re-export to any country the Software in any form without the appropriate export licenses under regulations of the country where Licensee resides, if necessary. Article 8 Termination of License The right granted to Licensee hereunder will be automatically terminated if Licensee violates any of the terms and conditions of this Agreement. Upon such automatic termination, Licensee must destroy the Software and related documentation together with all the copies thereof at Licensee’s own expense. 82LSQT1319 Setup 1 Installation When installing the software, log on to your PC as the Administrator (or with a user name with equivalent authorization) or with the user name for a standard user account. (If you do not have authorization to do this, consult your manager.) ≥Before starting the installation, close any other software applications which are running. ≥Do not perform any other operations on your PC while the software is being installed. For Windows Vista: If [User Account Control] dialog appears, click [Continue]. 1Insert the CD-ROM into the PC. The [Setup Menu] screen will appear. ≥If the [Setup Menu] screen does not appear, double-click the CD-ROM drive icon in [My Computer (Computer)]. 2Click [VideoCam Suite]. 3Click [Next]. 4Select where the application is to be installed, then click [Next]. 5Select [Yes] or [No] to create shortcut. 6Select the country or region where you live, then click [Next]. ≥If the country or region cannot be selected, select [NTSC Area]. ≥When the confirmation message appears, click [Yes]. 7Click [Install] to start the installation process. 8When installation is complete, some notes will appear Check the contents, then close the window. 83LSQT1319 9Select [Yes, I want to restart my computer now.], then click [Finish]. ≥Depending on the operating environment, you may be required to install DirectX 9.0c. If so, click [Yes], and install it. If you install the software on a PC that is not compatible with DirectX 9.0c, the PC may not work properly. If you are unsure whether or not your PC is compatible, contact the PC manufacturer. 84LSQT1319 Setup 2 Connection and recognition After the software is installed, the unit must be connected to the PC and be correctly recognized by the PC. ≥Remove the supplied CD-ROM from your PC. ≥Be sure to finalize DVD-RW (VR format), DVD-RW (Video format) and DVD-R/DVD-R DL discs on this unit, before using them on the PC. Discs that have not been finalized will not be recognized by the PC. ¬Connect this unit to the AC adaptor. 1Insert a disc or SD card with recorded images in the unit, then turn on the unit. 2Connect this unit and a PC. The USB function selection screen will appear. 3Select [PC CONNECT(DISC)] or [PC CONNECT(CARD)] and press the joystick. This unit is automatically detected by the PC. ≥When the unit is connected to a PC, its power cannot be turned off. Disconnect the USB cable before turning this unit off. (l86) ≥If the unit is connected to a PC when the USB function is set to [PC CONNECT(DISC)], no image will appear on the LCD monitor or the viewfinder. ≥When this unit is connected to a PC, you cannot use this unit’s DISC EJECT lever to remove a disc. Use Windows Explorer to right-click the drive icon for this unit and select [Eject]. ≥Do not disconnect the USB cable or AC adaptor while the access lamp is on or SD card access icon ( ) appears on the LCD monitor. Doing so may damage the data on the disc or SD card. ≥The disc and SD card cannot be accessed simultaneously. ≥It may be necessary to reboot the PC after connecting this unit to it for the first time. 85LSQT1319 When the unit is connected to a PC, it is recognized as an external drive. ≥Depending on the operating environment of the PC, the shape of the drive icon and the drive name will differ. These illustrations are examples. ∫When accessing the disc Optical disc drive is displayed in [My Computer (Computer)]. Folder structure* (RAM) (-RW‹VR›): AVR format motion pictures are stored. * This is not displayed in Windows 2000. Folder structure (-RW‹V›) (-R) (-R]DL): BVideo format motion pictures are stored. ∫When accessing the SD card [Removable Disk] is displayed in [My Computer (Computer)]. Folder structure (SD): CJPEG format still pictures (IMGA0001.JPG etc.) are stored. ≥Up to 999 files can be recorded in the [100CDPFP] or other such folder. DThe DPOF setting files are stored. ∫Copying still pictures on PC SD card reader function (mass storage) When the unit is connected to a PC and the SD card can be used as an external drive, still pictures on the card can be copied to the PC with Windows Explorer or other programs. 1 Double click the folder that contains the files on the removable disk ([100CDPFP] etc.). 2 Drag and drop the files onto the destination folder (on the PC hard disk). ≥Do not delete the SD card’s folders. Doing so may make the SD card unusable in this unit. ≥Always use this unit to format SD cards.
