49LSQT1011 Recording Before recording ∫About auto mode Set the AUTO/MANUAL/FOCUS switch to AUTO, and color balance (white balance) and focusing will be adjusted automatically. – Auto white balance (l163) – Auto focusing (l164) Depending on the brightness of the subject etc., the aperture and shutter speed are automatically adjusted for an optimum brightness. (When set to the disc recording mode: The shutter speed is adjusted to a maximum of 1/250.) ≥Color balance and focus may not be adjusted automatically depending on light sources or scenes. If so, manually adjust these settings. – Scene mode setting (l70) – White balance setting (l73) – Shutter speed setting (l75) – Iris/gain value setting (l75) – Focus setting (l72) ∫Auto Ground-directional Standby (AGS) (VDR-D300 only) This function prevents unnecessary recording when you forget to pause recording and walk with the unit tilted upside down while recording continues. ≥If the unit continues to be tilted upside down from the normal horizontal position while recording on a disc, it is automatically set to recording pause. 50LSQT1011 Recording Recording motion pictures Recording motion pictures (RAM) (-RW‹VR›) (-RW‹V›) (-R) Record motion pictures onto a disc. ≥When the unit is purchased, the aspect ratio is set to [16:9] for recording images compatible with a wide-screen TV. To watch images on a regular TV (4:3), change the aspect ratio setting (l66) before recording the images or when watching them on the connected TV (l105). ≥(VDR-D250 only) Remove the lens cap before turning the unit on. If the unit is turned on with the lens cap attached, the automatic white balance adjustment may not function properly. 1 Turn the unit on. 2 Rotate the mode dial to select . (VDR-D300 only) The lens cover opens automatically. 3 Open the LCD monitor or extend the viewfinder. 4 Press the recording start/stop button to start recording. To end the recording Press the recording start/stop button again to pause recording. ≥[¥] and [;] are red during recording. Do not move this unit until [;] is green. ≥The images recorded between pressing the recording start/stop button to start recording and pressing it again to pause recording become one scene. ≥When about 5 minutes have passed without any operation in recording pause, the unit automatically turns off to prevent the battery from running down.
