For Windows 98SE/Me/2000 users
3Connect the Palmcorder to your PC (Windows) using the USB Cable (supplied).
“CAPTURE” appears in the EVF or the LCD monitor.
The “Found New Hardware” screen of Windows is displayed.

For extended use, the AC Adaptor should be used as a power source.

may not show the icon indication that you

Running the PHOTOVU/
MPEG4 Movie Messenger™
System*Before you begin
Insert a recorded tape. (p. 12)
*PHOTOVU: You can transfer Still images
from your Palmcorder tape to a PC.
MPEG4 Movie Messenger™ System:
You can transfer Motion images from your
Palmcorder tape to a PC.
1Set Palmcorder POWER to VCR.
2Connect the Palmcorder to your PC
using the USB Cable (supplied) or
DV Interface Cable (i.LINK)...

Make Palmcorder-PC connections.

Turn your PC on. (p. 60)
Set Palmcorder POWER to VCR.
1Repeat steps 1~4 on page 62 to
run the PHOTOVU/MPEG4 Movie
Messenger™ System.
When the USB Cable is connected,
the input display will automatically
become USB. If it is not USB, please
confirm the connection. Then, close
and restart the software.

Motion and Still images
You can play back the saved Motion images
and Still images (p. 63) for confirmation.

Settings
You can open the “Compression
Settings” screen. (p. 70)
E-mail
You can attach the compressed image
to your e-mail.
Exit
Exits VideoGift screen.
Still Mode
You can display still images.
Slider
When several still images are opened
in the VideoGift screen, a slide show of
the images can be done.
Add Image
You can open the folder containing a
desired still image to add images.
Slide Edit
A collection of still images can be
edited as a slide show.

Using the VideoGift Screen
4Click on [All] or [Picture] to display a
Still image list on the View Manager
screen.
5Click on [Still Mode] on the VideoGift
screen.
6Select the Still image from the View
Manager screen, then drag and drop
the image to the “VideoGift” screen.
When clicking [Add Image], you can
add the saved still images on
your PC hard disk.

Attaching Motion images to e-mail

select a Motion Image.
If sending a portion of a Motion

To compress a Motion image, see
