Y Programming using the Handset 31Document Version 2011-03 Updating the base unit software Customer support may offer new features and improve its software version from time to time. If you set the base unit software update setting to manual mode through the Web user interface, you need to download the update when “Update version.Press OK.” is displayed. Contact your administrator for further information. Important: LMake sure the STATUS indicator on the base unit is lit in green and no line is in use (page 7). 1Press {OKL} while “Update version.Press OK.” is displayed. LThe current and new base unit software versions are displayed. LIf you want to download the update later, press {CANCEL}. To access the features, there are 2 methods: – scrolling through the display menus (page 32) – using the direct commands (page 33) Some of the features can be programmed through the Web user interface (page 39). You can choose one of 3 modes: –“Unconditional”: All incoming calls are forwarded. –“Busy”: Incoming calls while the line is in use are forwarded. –“No answer”: Incoming calls after a certain number of rings are forwarded. The default setting of the number of ring count is “3”. To change the setting, perform “Changing the ring count”, page 35. Important: LWe recommend setting with your administrator. Contact your administrator for further information. LIf this feature is set on your unit, it may be overridden by your phone system settings. LThis feature is not available on shared lines. LThe call is logged in the caller list (page 41) with Q after the call is forwarded. When a call is received, the unit does not ring while the caller is being identified. If the phone number matches an entry in the call block list, the unit rejects the call. Important: LWhen the unit receives a call from a number that is stored in the call block list, the call is logged in the caller list (page 41) with $ after the call is rejected. Storing unwanted callers You can store up to 30 phone numbers in the call block list by using the caller list or by entering the numbers directly. Important: LYou are advised to store the 10 digits (including an area code) for PSTN calls because if 7 digits are stored, all numbers that have the last 7 digits will be blocked. Registering a Unit 40Document Version 2011-03 Registering a unit Operating additional units Additional handsets Up to 6 handsets can be registered to the base unit. Registering a handset to the base unit The supplied handset and base unit are pre- registered. If for some reason the handset is not registered to the base unit (for example, _ is displayed even when the handset is near the base unit), re-register the handset. 1Handset: {MENU} (center of joystick) i {#}{1}{3}{0} 2Base unit: Press and hold {ALL} for about 4 seconds until the registration tone sounds and the STATUS indicator flashes in red. LIf all registered handsets start ringing, press the same button to stop. Then repeat from step 1. LThe next step must be completed within 90 seconds. 3Handset: Press {OKL}, then wait until a long beep sounds. LWhen the handset has been registered successfully, _ will change to w. Note: LWhen you purchase an additional handset, refer to the additional handset’s installation manual for registration. Deregistering a handset A handset can cancel its own registration (or the registration of another handset) that is stored to the base unit.
