Answering System
Turning on the answering system
Call your unit and wait for 15 rings.
≥The unit will answer and the greeting message will be played.
≥The answering system will turn on. Hang up or enter the remote code for other
options.
≥When turning on the answering system using a rotary or pulse service
telephone, you cannot enter the remote code for other options.

Remote Operation with the Cordless Handset
(Cordless\Handset)
You can operate your answering system
with the cordless handset. 
The announcements and recorded
messages can only be heard with the
cordless handset.
Summary of remote operation
≥The unit will announce the remaining recording time after playback, if it is less
than 5 minutes.
≥If the unit starts to ring during the remote operation, press  to answer the
call. The remote operation is ended.

Base unit
The base unit can be mounted on a wall phone plate.

Pull down the handset hook until 
it locks, so the tab holds the handset.

Press the tabs in the direction of the 
arrows (1), then remove the wall 
mounting adaptor (2).

Connect the AC adaptor. Tuck the 
telephone line cord inside the wall 
mounting adaptor, then push it in 
the direction of the arrow (1and 2).

Connect the telephone line cord. 
Mount the base unit, then slide 
down.
≥Raise the antennas.
Charger unit
The charger can be wall mounted. Connect the AC adaptor. Install screws
using the wall template (p. 74). Mount the charger (1). Slide it down (2),
then slide down to the right (3) until it is secured. To temporarily set the handset down
during a conversation, place it as shown

You can hang the cordless handset on your belt or pocket using the belt
clip.
To attach the belt clip To remove the belt clip
Plugging an optional headset into the cordless handset allows a hands-free
phone conversation. Please use only the Panasonic KX-TCA88 headset.

If “Recharge battery” is displayed and/or “” flashes after a few
telephone calls even if the battery was fully charged, replace the battery
with a new Panasonic PQP510SVC (P-P510) battery. To order, call the

If the unit detects a problem, one of the following messages will be
displayed on the cordless handset or the base unit.
Cordless handset display
The battery needs to be charged. Place the
cordless handset on the charger to charge the
battery (p. 12).
The cordless handset has lost communication
with the base unit. Move closer to the base unit
and try again.
When trying to store an item or Caller List...

When the clock needs adjusting, the time and
date flashes. Adjust the clock (p. 13).
Your greeting message was not recorded
correctly. Record it again (p. 23).
If the message memory is full, “Message full”
will flash. Erase some, or all, of the messages
